MEANING OF SCIENCE

Science is knowledge attained through study orpractice ,or knowledge covering general truths of theoperation of general laws especially as obtained and

tested through scientific method concerned with thephysical word .

It is a system of acquiring knowledge.

This system uses observation and experimentation todescribe and explain natural phenomena.

What is the purpose ofscience?

Purpose of science is to produce

useful models of reality.

Which fulfill the need of human beings.

SCIENTIFIC THINKING

Scientific thinking is in short -self directed,

self disciplined, self monitored and self

corrective.

It entitles effective communication andproblem solving abilities as well as a

commitment to developing scientific skills,

abilities and dispositions.

SCIENTIFIC THINKER

Raises vital scientific questions andproblems, formulating them clearly andprecisely;

comes to well reasoned scientific conclusionsand solutions, testing them against criteriaand standards.

Thinks open mindedly. Communicate effectively with others in

proposing solutions to complex scientificproblems.

SCIENTIFIC THINKING

AT HOME

By using scientific thinking we can save some money on our

electric bills at home

Switch regular bulb to fluorescent light bulbs. These will last 10 times longer and use 70%lessenergy.

Turn off the lights ,T.V., and other appliances .If you leave a room for just a few moments , make ita habit to switch everything off . It takes a moment of your time but will build up to increased

energy savings . To save electricity install a motion sensor light switch that will automatically turn the lights off

and on as you enter and leave the room.

Always turn off your computer ,a computer running idle sucks up tons of energy.

Use cold water to wash clothing 95% of the energy used by a washing machine is used to heatthe water ,so only wash full loads when possible.

Discover how to save electricity outdoors with solar lightning .

How scientifically we use gas

stove for cooking?  Technology has so evolved today that cooking no longer

translates to muddling with dust, smoke and fire . Gasstoves at cheapest prices and our established delivery

system will ensure a quick and protected dispatch of gas, right to our door step.

In our day today life we should know ,

1. How the gas stove works?

2. What are the content of LPG?

3. How useful it is?

4. How dangerous it is?

5. How to take precautions?

LPG

Liquefied petroleum gasLPG was first introduced in 1900 by Dr Walter Snelling and the

first commercial products appeared in 1912

It is a flammable mixture of hydrocarbon gases used as a fuel inheating appliances and vehicles.

It has mixture of Propane(C3H8), Butane(C4H10).

A powerful odorant ethanol is added so that leaks can be

detected easily.

Environmental Effects

Commercially available LPG is currently

derived from fossil fuels .Burning LPG

releases CO2, a green house gas, driving toglobal warming.

HOW TO TAKE PRECAUTIONS WHILE USING

LPG?

Check any visible signs of leakage through visualinspection ,soap solution or smell.

Never use lighted match sticks for checking leaks.

Always keep the cylinder upright position at ground levelat a ventilated place

Do not install the LPG cylinder in the cabinet.

The LPG stove must always be installed on kitchen slabat height above the cylinder .

The cylinder must be kept away from other sources of

heat.

PRECAUTIONS TO TAKE AFTER THE

USAGE OF LPG Close the regulator knob to OFF position

when cylinder is not in use.

The empty cylinder must be kept away fromother sources of heat, with safety cap putON.

IN CASE OF LEAKAGE

Do not panic.

Do not switch on or off any electrical appliances inthe room.

Isolate main electrical supply from outside only. Close the appliance and LPG regulator.

Put on the safety cap on the cylinder.

Open all doors and windows for ventilation.

Never use an electric fan for the ventilation. Call your Gas dealer/Company for help.

Replace the rubber tube at least an interval of 2years.

RUBBER TUBE OF LPG GAS CYLINDER

1. The rubber tube must be of approved quality bearing ISI mark.

2. Rubber tube must be kept without any cover to facilitate regularvisual and physical checking for any cracks or damages.

3. Such rubber tubes should be with maximum length of 1.5 meters.4. Rubber tube should be placed at accessible distance for regular

inspection and checking.

5. It is important to keep rubber tube at the safe distance from heatand fire.

6. The rubber should never be kept looped or twisted .

7. Always clean the rubber tube with wet cloth ,without any types of soap or detergent.

LPG PRESSURE REGULATOR

The pressure regulator place an importantfunction to prevent leakage of gas and hence it isimportant to follow some Safety rules while

using cylinder.1. After cooking it is mandatory to keep the

regulator in off position to avoid any leakage of gas.

2. In case of any defects in the regulator or anyparts or the cylinder you should not try to repairit instead should call the authorized person toattend the defects, if any.

CONCLUSION

So if we follow the scientific method is intricatelyassociated with science, the process of humaninquiry that pervades the modern era on manylevels . While the method appears simple andlogical in description ,there is perhaps no morecomplex questions than that of knowing how we

come to know things .We also try to point outsome of the criteria and practices developed byscientists to reduce the influence of individual orsocial bias on scientific findings.

CONCLUSION

Scientific thinking is necessary across allsections of humans in todays era from housewife to scientists , from kids to professionals ,for conducting even daily chores .

Scientific thinking is necessary to make use of given facilties and to live safely .

Probably ,this is the reason of every nextgeneration kids are getting born with higherinclination of scientific mindset , provingDarwins theory of evolution right even today.
