ABSTRACT

In a mobile ad hoc network, data replication drastically

improves data availability. However, since mobile hosts’ mobility

causes frequent network partitioning, consistency management

of data operations on replicas becomes a crucial issue. In such an

environment, the global consistency of data operations on

replicas is not desirable by many applications. Thus, new

consistency maintenance based on local conditions such as

location and time need to be investigated. This paper attempts to

classify different consistency levels according to requirements

from applications and provides protocols to realize them. We

report simulation results to investigate the characteristics of

these consistency protocols in a mobile ad hoc network.

EXISTING SYSTEM

In mobile ad hoc network (MANET) mobile hosts

move freely, due to the free moving disconnections often occur.

This causes data in to two separated networks, so data become

inaccessible to each other. Preventing the fall of data

availability at the point of network partitioning is a very

significant issue in MANETs. Replicas of a data item become

invalid after the host holding the original updates it and the

consistency of data operations on replicas is kept in the entire

network. To overcome the disadvantages of the existing system

we can develop the proposed system.

PROPOSED SYSTEM

To improve data availability, data replication is

the most promising solution. So we can develop different

consistency conditions of data operations on replicas in

MANETs and we can we propose protocols to achieve them

and also discuss the impact of replica allocation for the

system performance when the memory space of mobile

hosts is limited. We also report simulation results to

investigate the behavior of the proposed protocols. We can

also plot the graph by using the Execution time and Speed up

factor to analyze the performance of our proposed system

Determining the Device's Location: In this age of significant telecommunications

competition, mobile network operators continuously seek new and innovative ways to create differentiation and increase profits. One of the best ways to do accomplish this is through the delivery of highly personalized services. One of the most powerful ways to personalize mobile services is based on location.

One of the most obvious technologies behind device location is positioning, with the most widely recognized system being the Global Positioning System (GPS). These other technologies are network based positioning and typically rely on various means of triangulation of the signal from cell sites serving a mobile phone. In addition, the serving cell site can be used as a fix for location of the user

Page 8: PPT OF DATA REPLICATION

Location dependent data in consideration of network partition: Location dependent data services

are offered by some cell phone networks as a way to send custom advertising and other information to cell-phone subscribers based on their current location. The cell-phone service provider gets the location from a GPS chip built into the phone based on the signal-strength of the closest cell-phone towers.

Page 9: PPT OF DATA REPLICATION

Finding the nearest server: If the service provider is busy when

some requests are send by the user it cannot be able to handle the request of the sender. So there is some delay in the services. To avoid the delay in the service it finds the nearest service provider which with less services, and transfer the request to that service provider. By this process we can provide the service with in the expected time.

Managing Data Replication:

A mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is a collection of wireless autonomous nodes without any fixed backbone infrastructure. All the nodes in MANET are mobile and power restricted so, disconnection and network partitioning occurs frequently. a data replication technique for real-time ad-hoc mobile databases (DREAM) is proposed that addresses all those issues.

It improves data accessibility while considering the issue of energy limitation by replicating hot data items at servers that have higher remaining power. It addresses disconnection and network partitioning by introducing new data and transaction types and by considering the stability of wireless link. It handles the real-time transaction issue by replicating data items that are accessed frequently by firm transactions before those accessed frequently by soft transactions.

Traffic Analysis: In this module we can take an analysis

about the traffic, and how the service providers handle the traffic in an efficient way. By using this analysis result we can plot a graph to investigate the behavior of the proposed system rather than the existing system. We plot the graph by using the Execution time and Speed up factor to analyze the performance of our proposed system.

The main contributions of this paper are not only the

proposal of the consistency levels and protocols but

1) the classification of consistency levels according to the system and application requirements

2) the choices of the existing techniques and their extensions for design of the protocols of these consistency levels in MANETs, and

3) performance studies of these protocols.
