PPA’s responsibilities range from managing parking and related traffic management programs on the streets of Philadelphia, to building and operating parking lots and garages, as well as the regulation of taxicabs limousines and transportation network companies in the city and administer a system of red light camera enforcement. It is a dynamic and changing time for PPA as they seek a proven leader who is both strategic and pragmatic. Report to: Board of Directors, Philadelphia Parking Authority Supervises: 3 Direct Reports / 1100 Indirect (unionized under 7 contracts) Location: Philadelphia, PA Relocation: Possible assistance Website: www.philapark.org This position functions as the executive officer on behalf of the Board of Directors. It is responsible for the general management of all operations of the Authority, having the authority to sign all contracts, deeds, bonds and other instruments and obligations of the Authority based on authorization by the Board of Directors. The Executive Director serves as principal spokesperson for the Authority, providing effective liaison with government agencies, elected officials, business representatives, civic and community organizations, and concerned members of the public. Work is performed under the general direction of the Board of Directors. Assignments are generic and highly complex in nature and are carried out in accordance with broad policy directives and under Federal, State and Local laws, ordinances and regulations. Provides overall leadership and direction for a highly complex organization and sets the tone for an ethical organization that is both high-performance and committed to public service Manages the operations of both the On-Street and Off-Street parking programs, maximizes available resources, while assuring the appropriate balance between the public service and revenue production goals of the Authority Manages a $250M budget and assures fiscal accountability
