CampusDean,Dr.DavidFitz,askedfacultymembersatPitt‐Titusvilletocomeupwithan idea thatwould teach the incomingstudents thehabits that lead toaca‐demicsuccess.FacultymembersDr.NancyTress,MaryAnnCaton,andJeffLede‐buragreedthatputtingstudentsinaroomandlecturingthemaboutstudyhabitswasaboringprocessandthestudentsdidn’t listen. Thegroupcameupwiththeideaofturningthecampusintoagiantgameboard.Theideawasforittobeafunwaytocommunicatethehabitsofacademicsuccessinamoreinteractiveway.
Immediately following thegame,administration, faculty, staffandstudentscele‐brated theopening convocation inHenneAuditorium. Opening convocation is along‐standingacademictradition inAmericanhighereducation. It isanoccasionthatbringstogetherallthemembersofthecampuscommunity,notonlytomarkthe beginning of a new academic year, but also to rededicate themselves to thecommongoalsofeducationandservice.
The University of Pittsburgh at Ti‐tusville celebrated the beginning ofthe2014‐2015academicyearwithanew twist in theorientationprocessandtheopeningconvocationonSat‐urday,August23,2014.
Faculty, staff and students at Pitt‐Titusville turned the campus into agiantgameboardforanewlycreatedeventforthisyear’snew‐studentori‐entationentitled“PassorFail.”
Followingtheprocessional, ledbyDr. Richard Mulcahy, grand mar‐shal, Pitt‐Titusville President Dr.Livingston Alexander formallywelcomed new students to theTitusvillecampus.EmilSpadaforerepresentedthePitt‐TitusvilleAd‐visory Board and welcomed newstudentson theirbehalf. CampusDean, Dr. David Fitz spoke to thenew students about the Pitt‐Promise. The Pitt‐Promise is acommitmenttocivility.Itencour‐agesthePitt‐Titusvillestudentsto

AresidentofTitusville,EvangraduatedfromTitusvilleHighSchoolin2008andfromThielCollegein2012withaBache‐lor’sdegreeinHistorywithaminorinMusic.AtEdinboro,Evanisthegraduateassistantforcampuslifewhereheadvisesthe13so‐cial fraternitiesandsororities,theirtwogoverningboards,honorsociety,andtheNationalSocietyofLeadershipandSuccess.In his spare time, Evan enjoys reading anything he can get hishands on, singing, and acting. Hehas performed inmanyof theTitusville Summer Theater productions, including this summer’sproduction of “Oliver!” inwhich he played the role of Bill Sykes.Also this summer, Evan completed a practicum internship in theAdmissionsof icewithBobbyWyant.EvanisalsoavolunteerforDeltaSigmaPhiFraternity,havingvolunteeredasamemberoftheNational Nominations Committee for two years and is currentlyservingashischapter’sActingPresidentoftheAlumniBoard.

If a roomchange is recommended,pleasenote:RoomChangesareofferedonlyoncepersemesterandwillbetakingplaceSeptember8‐22nd.Itisyourresponsibilitytocommuni‐catewithyourRAandGRDifyouareconsideringchangingrooms.
RoomChangescomeintwoforms:1. One‐for‐one swap: students who know of another student who would be interested inswappingrooms.Inthissituation,bothresidentsmustspeakwiththeGRDandallfourpartiesmustbeokaywiththeswap.2. Vacancy Pull‐in: if a vacancy existswithin a room or a townhouse, youmay request tomoveintothisspace.Atthistime,theonlysinglesallowedoncampusaremedicalsingles.Note:Ifyouarecurrentlylivinginasingleroom,youarenotguaranteedthissingleforthefore-seeablefuture.Onceroomchangesareover,youwillbecontactedtoinquirewhetheryouwouldliketopayasingleroomdeposit($300)orreceivearoommate.
