• Malignant melanoma is the most aggressive type of skin cancer characterized by the uncontrolled growth of melanocytes

• Melanocytes is the pigment producing cells of the skin

• Malignant melanoma is treatable if diagnosed at an early stage but currently the prognosis is poor
