Mandatory Safety Awareness and Risk Assessment Training
MGN 411 (M+F): Since the
mandatory Seafish SafetyAwareness and Risk Assessmentcourse has no STCW alternative,
any fishermen coming from
outside the UK must, regardless of
whether he has undertaken the
Merchant Navy STCW basic safety
training, undertake this course
before commencing work for the
first time on a UK Registered
fishing vessel. Any UK fisherman
with two years experience must
also undertake the Seafish SafetyAwareness and Risk AssessmentCourse.

We are offering a 2 Day Watchkeeping and Navigation course on 9-10 October
This certificate allows you to serve as officer in charge of
the watch on a vessel of 7m or more and less than
16.5m registered length, up to 20nm from a safe haven.
It can count towards your Under 16.5m Skippers ticket
(restricted).
The course is free if you have completed your basic
safety training, including Safety Awareness.
