OVERVIEW Program Title: Cutting Edge Presentations: Using PowerPoint 2007 Level: Adult learners
Major Goal: Students will be able to utilize the PowerPoint 2007 interface to design, create,
and save a presentation. Time: 60 min
System Requirements: Microsoft Windows Vista, internet connectivity, Flash player 9, audio card with
speakers or headphones, PowerPoint 2007 and dual monitors (optional).
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Target Audience: This course will initially be targeting entry level training development interns. Interns are required to produce a PowerPoint presentation every two weeks outlining the current status of their professional development. The skill level for PowerPoint is varied among the interns and ranges from no experience to expert, hence the adoption of a modular design to accommodate specific learner needs. This course will also serve as an enduring reach back capability for former interns and other working professionals in the training development arena within our organization. Culminating project will be the performance based assessment .
Instructional objectives (LaTrelle):
1. Students will identify the new features in PowerPoint 2007. 2. Students will identify components utilized in navigating the PowerPoint 2007 user interface. 3. Students will identify things to avoid in presentation design. 4. Students will design, create and save a PowerPoint presentation.
Instructional objectives (Nancy): 1. Students will identify the advanced features in PowerPoint 2007.
2. Students will utilize components in PowerPoint 2007 to customize presentations.
3. Students will create charts and tables within PowerPoint presentation.
4. Students will apply troubleshooting skills, as needed; and finalize presentation.
