BackgroundStoring email as part of the address information was not the right design

• IDEA-20879-Separate email_address from physical address

• Issues of having email as part of the address:

• Setting the address as Inactive affected the email

• The only option to contact students was using the preffered address email

• Manually update of the email when there was an address change

• Workarounds to store emails in different places

• Email does not change year to year as a phisical address

• There was no field to indicate when a person doesn’t want to receive notifications viaemail

• No field to indicate when an email is a bad address.
