Goal Setting
• Introduce participants to the process of describing oneself;

• Improve the ability to present ones goals;

• Discover the many ways people describe their goals;
!
• Explore individual motivations around goal setting;
!
• Define a time frame and commitment required to achieve ones goals;
!
• Collaborate with your support team.
Self Talk
• Identify individual patterns of self talk; !
• Discuss the relationship between self talk and physical, behavioural and emotional responses;
!
• Investigate unhelpful self talk patterns known as ‘cognitive distortions’;
!
• Understand how to develop realistic, helpful self talk patterns;
!
• Explore different strategies to support positive self talk, such as utilising visualisation, affirmation and/or support key words.
Imagery
• Develop an understanding of mental rehearsal;

• Practice imagery techniques that will assist in refining performance specific skills;
!
• Increase awareness of the many perspectives that can be approached during an imagery exercise;
!
• Apply imagery-based techniques to individual performance situations;
!
• Utilise imagery and positive self talk together to optimise performance.
