Becoming a Christian...We believe that it is by grace that we are saved

through our response of faith, believing that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died to take the penalty of our sins on Himself, and that He was raised from the dead on the third day by the power of God. God calls people to believe in Jesus as their Savior, repent of sin in their life, make a confession of faith that Jesus is Lord and be joined to Christ and added to His church by being immersed (baptized) in His name. Having made this response of faith to God, all sin is forgiven and we receive the gift of God's Holy Spirit to live in us and to empower us to live for Jesus. All those who come to faith in Him may request immersion at any time.

Becoming a Member at Westside...All believers, who by faith in Jesus

have been baptized through immersion for forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit, may place their membership at Westside. You may express your desire to one of our elders or ministers, or mark the appropriate space on our visitor card. Members here are under the spiritual care of our shepherds and committed to service and full participation with the family of God at this congregation.

Bible Study— Join us on Wednesdays beginning at 7p.m. & Sundays at 10:30a.m. for a variety of topics in #601.

Journey Groups—Our last Journey Group of the year will be TONIGHT at Mark and Jen Pafford’s house. Come join us one last time as we study how the words of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount challenge us to be great examples of Christ’s love in our world. We’re also doing a white elephant gift exchange so please bring a $5 (maximum) wrapped gift!

The Christmas tree in the Family Life Center foyer has been dedicated as a “Giving Tree”. Please feel free to bring new socks, scarves, hats or gloves. A new Sunday Morning class will be beginning Jan.1, 2017, “Book of Psalms” taught by Mark Frost and Bob Kaiser, in Room #517.

A prayer quilt is now available for the new pulpit minister that God is preparing for Westside. Be sure to tie a knot and say a prayer.

Elders’ Corner...What a blessing it is to come together each Sunday to greet others, join in singing

praises, offer up prayers, and listen to the word of God preached. This past Sunday we were even more blessed, as in addition to these activities we were blessed by the children bringing us the story of Jesus’ birth. Then after the worship service we were again blessed when we assembled to prepare meals for hungry children with almost 100 students from Stockdale High School, some Veterans from our community, and many others who just wanted to be a part of such an amazing experience. A big thank you is due to so many. Please reach out to those who played a part in either activity and let them know that their efforts were appreciated. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Radiation will begin in January. Charlotte West - sister-in-law, Bonita West, has been given a few days left; prayers for her family at the passing of her cousin in Taft recently.
