70 Years, Celebrate CSI!

Rules for Calendar Contest 2014

December 21, 1945, has great and important significance to the 7000 members of CSI. On that date, Cooperative Services Inc. was incorporated. From humble beginnings as a local dairy, Cooperative Services grew to include grocery stores, sponsored a credit union and morphed into CSI Support & Devel-opment Services, the largest cooperatively managed senior housing provider in the United States. Next year, seventy years will have passed and CSI will observe their platinum anniversary. It is never too early to start the celebration of this important moment in time. In order to celebrate and promote our anniversary, CSI is hosting a poster contest open to all hous-ing members. Members may submit posters highlighting CSI’s 70 years of history, cooperative spirit and mission. 12 winning posters will be selected and featured on each month of a 2015 calendar to commem-orate CSI’s anniversary. An additional grand prize winner will be featured on the cover of the calendar. To celebrate CSI’s 70th year, all housing members will receive a special gift of this anniversary calendar.

To Enter the “70 Years, Celebrate CSI” Calendar Contest:

1. This promotional calendar contest is open to CSI housing members only on behalf of their coopera-tives.

2. Contest entries should be in the format that highlights CSI’s history, mission, and cooperative spirit for the past 70 years.

3. Posters must be 11” wide by 8 ½” tall so that the images are the appropriate dimensions for a calen-dar.

4. Entries are limited to one poster submission per member. Co-ops may submit multiple entries and each entry will be counted as a unique entry. An individual co-op might be awarded more than one prize. CSI is not responsible for any disputes between members of any co-op pertaining to this con-test.

5. Posters must be submitted to your regional education coordinator, and they must be received by September 15, 2014.

6. To be a qualifying entry, the poster must be in the appropriate format and submitted on time. 7. Submission of poster automatically authorizes CSI Support & Development, its subsidiaries and affili-

ates to publish said poster without compensation, releases all rights of ownership, and releases CSI Support & Development of any liabilities connected with its use.

The Prizes for the CSI “70 Years, Celebrate CSI” Calendar Contest:

A total of 13 prizes will be awarded with 12 winning posters, plus 1 grand prize winning poster. The grand prize winning poster will be featured on the cover of the calendar. There will be 3 winners per re-gion, not including the grand prize winner. Winners receive a prize payable to their co-op’s house funds in the amount of $3 per unit of their co-op to host a party for all members of their co-op. The grand prize winner wins the amount of $3 per unit to host a party for his/her co-op plus a personal $50 cash prize.

Judging Criteria for “70 Years, Celebrate CSI” Posters:

Posters will be judged on creativity, originality, and how well they showcase CSI’s cooperative spirit, his-tory, and mission. Runoff ballots will be used and the panel of judges will consist of the members of CSI’s Board of Directors. Winners will be announced in October 2014.
