Basra Oil & Gas 2010 has been opened on 25th November with immense participation of State Officials, companies, media agencies and visitors. His Excellency Minister of Transport, Basra Governor, Turkish Consulate and high level officials from State Companies honored the event with their valuable presence.
BASRA / Aswat al-Iraq reported that Kuwaiti Ambassador to Iraq, Ali al-Muamen, attended the oil and gas fair in Basra. “The ambassador arrived in the fair a few hours ago to take part in it,” Aswat al-Iraq news agency correspondent said. “This is the first time for a Kuwaiti official to attend an investment event in Basra,” he added.

EXHIBITION
Success of Basra Oil & Gas 2010 Exhibition was far beyond the expectations. Event brought together 218 exhibiting companies from 30 countries. Presence of global companies like Halliburton, Petronas, ENI, Weatherford and FMC Technologies was an additional asset proving the quality of the event. Event fulfilled its job as being a meeting point for private and public sector companies. In accordance with the theme adopted as “Iraq Effectively Contributes to Future World Energy Supply”, all participants and visitors noticed once again the opportunities that Iraq Oil and Gas Industry offers and they could also get in contact with local companies and get informed about how to integrate with the local content. 16850 people consisting mostly of sector professionals visited the event in 4 days.

Basra Oil & Gas Conference was held on 26th and 27th of November with the participation of 184 delegates under the theme of “Iraq Effectively Contributes to Future World Energy Supply”. Attending Companies, institutions, universities, and individual delegates were exposed to the present and future status of Iraq’s oil industry, world energy supply and demand outlook 2010-2030 and how effective the role of Iraq’s oil industry will be in the World Energy Balance, and delivery of papers in the technical, legal, investment & finance and information technology domains.
