Post-Graduate Programmein Public PolicyGateway to a successful career in public policy

A pioneer in modern public policy education in India, the Takshashila Institution introduces the Post-Graduate Programme in Public Policy (PGP) for working professionals. It is targeted at dynamic individuals who wish to enter the growing professional sphere of policy, public affairs, governance and leadership, while pursuing their current occupations.

The PGP brings together policy practitioners and academic experts from across the world. The programme is academically rigorous and attuned to the current requirements of industry, media, social sector and politics.

Over a duration of 48 weeks, the PGP equips participants with a core set of skills in policy evaluation, economic reasoning, effective communication and public persuasion. Its emphasis is on how these skills can be applied to formulate and analyse policies in a variety of settings.

Programme Overview

• Pathway to careers through our partnership

with industry, media, non-profits and public

leaders

• Custom-designed curriculum that blends

academic concepts with practitioners’ insights

• Offered in three different majors - Public

Policy, Public Affairs and Public Leadership

• Students specialise in their chosen career-

oriented domains and skill sets.

Takshashila’s PGP is a 48-week programme

with 3 terms of 14 weeks each. During these

terms students engage in weekly webinars,

online self- and group study.

In addition, students are required to attend

4 contact workshops — two workshops of

5 days and two of three days. These intense

workshops, where participants interact with

policy practitioners who have first-hand

experience with the challenges of policy-

making, are offered at the beginning of

each trimester and in the final week of the

programme.

PGP Features Programme StructureThe PGP integrates teaching in core subjects

with a choice of three major areas along

with a host of thematic webinars by domain

experts. Students will also choose a domain for

specialisation where they will acquire specialist

skills and expertise.

The coursework will be based on Takshashila’s

Framework Based Learning pedagogy that

connects academic knowledge to real-world

practice.
