What is OCM?• Organizational change management (OCM), similar to project management, is a

discipline and with methodologies, frameworks, specific tools and processes for understanding and managing the effects of change.

• Put simply, OCM is focused on the people side of change

Why is OCM important?• On average, 70% of change fails to deliver against objectives and 9 out of the 10 top

barriers to change are people related • Change with planned OCM support:

Engaged stakeholders & leadership create interest in the change Heightened commitment to the change = higher probability of benefits

realization

Level 3, 80 Clarence Street, Sydney NSW 2000 (02) 8270 9200 www.and.org.au

Constructive, two way discussion of issues & concerns = timely action & resolution

Increased confidence in future change• Change without planned OCM support

Degradation of day to day operation controls, service standards and productivity = reduced customer satisfaction & potential increase in complaints

Benefits not delivered Employee engagement challenges/issues Change fatigue, reduced employee engagement = potential increased

turnover Risk to future change initiatives
