BRIEF HISTORY OF PWB PWB WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1851.
IN 1895, BULL RUN COMPLETED CONSTRUCTION OF CONDUIT 1 WHICH ALLOWED FLOW TO MT. TABOR.
CREDIT WAS DUE IN 1905 TO PWB FOR THE DECREASE IN DEATHS SINCE BULL RUN BECAME OPERATIONAL.
1927 WATER METERS WERE INSTALLED IN THE PORTLAND AREA TO ALL WATER SERVICES.
1930-1940 CHLORINE WAS FIRST INTRODUCE TO PREP WATER FOR TREATMENT AND ALLOWED FOR CLEANER WATER FOR PUBLIC USE.
BY 1962 BOTH DAM 1 AND 2 WERE CONSTRUCTED AT BULL RUN.
DURING THE 2000’S, TECHNOLOGY INCREASED ALLOWING FOR EFFICIENCY AND REUSABLE UTILITIES WHICH DECREASED WATER USAGE BY 80%.
IN 1995, PWB INSTALLED A 50 MILLION GALLON TANK AT POWELL BUTTE TO HELP DISTRIBUTE WATER TO CONSUMERS.

THEY OFFERED A FLEX SCHEDULE.
9 HR WORK DAYS MON-THRU.
WORK 8 HR EVERY OTHER FRIDAY.
EVERY OTHER FRIDAY OFF.
HAD THE OPTION FOR MY FLEX DAYS.
MENTORS AND COWORKERS WORKED WELL WITH MY PERSONAL SCHEDULE.
40 HOUR WORK WEEKS.

HOLIDAYS. NO BENEFITS. SICK DAYS
