FOODIES CENTRE
Concept The main idea is to bring all kind of food related activities into one building and let them interact with each other by an atrium. The Foodies centre can be divided into two parts:• Commercial levels: shops for the foodies, for example the wine
store, health & nutrition store and the cooking equipment store• Foodies levels: restaurants and workshops for the foodies.
The visibility in the building is important. In the contemporary food consumption behaviour the entertainment play a major role. The consumer wants to get involved into the preparation process. The Foodies Centre gives the consumer the opportunity to not only see how the restaurants will work, but how the whole building will work.

Commercial vs Foodies
Concept
The atrium of the Foodies Centre will have an urban and an architectural function. The urban function is to extend the public space and create a hidden space, like the typical ‘hofje’ that you will find in Amsterdam.
The architectural function of the atrium is to have an overview of the visibility in the building. The spatial, programmatic organisation and the construction can be easily read from this atrium.

Ceiling The ceiling of the Foodies Centre will have a special treatment. It wil incorporate three aspects:
Light: TL-light for diffuse lighting in the hallSound: The insulation between the perforated aluminium panels helps to absorb noise. The angle also has a contribution in the sound acousticVentilation: Airductsneccessaryformechanicalventilationcan be put in the space , that was created by the angle in the acoustic isolation principle

PROTOTYPICAL BLOCK
Concept The idea is to create a Collective City which is built up from identical building blocks. The combination of four blocks will create its own public identity. These identities can be spread and connected in the Collective City. The diversity of density will create an urban or a more quite identity.
