I’m proud to introduce myself today as a young ar-chitect. It was a long way to become one. This way was filled with challenges and tests, ups and downs, full of patience and inspiration, precision and crea-tivity, but mostly full of personal endurance. During this road I’ve learned a lot about myself, I know what I want and what is important to me. I have very positive and optimistic approach towards life and I’m certain that everyone can achieve his or her goals, if one sets his mind to it.

The same is true when I think about my work ethics, which is based on hard work and personal involve-ment throughout the project. I tend to take personal pride and happiness to see the success at the end. I’m fully aware of all the challenges ahead of me and looking forward to embrace them as I go forward in my professional career.

My passion is in designing user and environment friendly facilities. These designs should provide comfort to its owners, fit in the local area and have positive effects on the environment. My designs are based on creative approach, which encompass func-tional and technical balance.

Danes se ponosno predstavljam kot mlada arhitekta. Da sem to postala, sem prehodila dolgo pot mnogih izzivov, preizkušenj, vzponov, tudi padcev, potrpežl-jivosti, navdihov, doslednosti, kreativnosti in pred-vsem vztrajnosti. Vem, kdo sem, kaj želim in katere stvari v življenju mi pomenijo največ. Moj odnos do življenja je pozitiven in optimističen, saj trdno verjam-em, da lahko vsak doseže vse, če si tega dovolj želi in se za svoje cilje trudi.

Tak je tudi moj pristop do dela, saj vanj vlagam maksimum od začetka do konca, končni izzid pa me navdaja z zadovoljstvom in ponosom. Zavedam se, da je moja profesionalna pot dolga in da moram osvojiti še veliko meni nerazkritega znanja, a teh novih izzivov se izjemno veselim.

Želim oblikovati objekte, ki bodo prijazni do upo-rabnikov in okolja. Le-ti moraju služiti človeku in mu nuditi najboljše počutje, saj nam predstavljajo zatočišče, hkrati pa morajo biti ustrezno umeščeni v okolje in nanj pozitivno vplivati. Želim ustvarjati arhitekturo, v kateri se bosta odražala vsa moja kreativnost in znanje, ki ju želim sestaviti v estetsko, funkcionalno in tehnično dovršeno celoto.

Master thesis attempts to provide a conceptual solution for the design of new student dormito-ries in Maribor, as a set of educational, sporting and cultural activities. It represents optimal ar-chitectural solution of the modern student resi-dence.The main topic of the project is development of student dormitories in Maribor, their construction and the needs of the University of Maribor for student beds. Master thesis also deals with the demand and current capacity status of student dormitories and, furthermore, gives the solution. Theoretically the project is supported by com-parable and quality architecture throughout the world.The location of the project has been selected according to analysis of comparable housing

program in Maribor, location recommendations, a student dormitories programs and capacity needs. With analyses of areas we have decid-ed to choose the location of the existing student residence on Gosposvetska cesta. Current stu-dent residence is not sufficient to the needs of the modern student residence and we want to show that with a new building.The design of the building includes the realities of location, with the views and accesses it con-nects to the existing pattern of the location. . Be-side student rooms and suites, the modern stu-dent residence as a content integrated building offers space for educational and cultural activi-ties, a restaurant, a coffee shop and recreation program.

This is a school project in Maribor on master’s program. The city has new plans to develop the edge of the river with new business - commer-cial and residential area all connected in one self -sufficient urban structure.

The aim is to plan a efficient building with commercial and residential program inside al-ready defined structure. The main focus was how to make different floor plans for different users and that is still enough flexible, you can transform in over time. The building is in l- shape, with loud and commercial patio and more quiet and green outer edge. We made a combination of commercial stores for rent opening towards patio in the lower part of the building, row-houses at the top of it, and apartments different sizes in the towers. That kind of organization would attract people all age and with different style of living.

projekt je študijsko delo magistrskega študija in je umeščeno v Maribor. Mesto ima predloge kako razviti desni breg reke drave - z novim komercialnim in bivanjskim območjem, ki je povezano v enotno samozadostno urbano strukturo.

Cilj naloge je načrtovati učinkovito stavbo s poslovno-komercialnim in bivanjskim pro-gramom znotraj definirane strukture. Želeli smo ustvariti različne načrte za različne uporabni-ke, ki so hkrati dovolj fleksibilni, da se lahko s časom transformirajo. Stavba je v obliki črke L, ki tz notranjo fasado zaobjema glasen trg, na zunanjo stran pa se odpira v umirjen in zelen rob. oblikovali smo kombinacijo trgovinskih prostorov v pritličju, ki se odpirajo proti trgu, in vrstnih hiš na vrhu le teh, ter stanovanj različnih velikosti v obeh stolpičih. Takšna organizacija bi privlačila ljudi vseh starosti z različnimi stili bivanja.

This project was developed during my in-tern-ship in norway. Investor and the owner SiT (Studentsamskipnaden i Trondheim) wanted to find a new solution for existing plot (1200m2). Their request was to build a sport hall and housing intended for students and swimming pool for the general public. on this project I worked alone with guidelines of SiT.

plot lies in industrial area next to one of main roads to the city centre of Trondheim. The area has started to develop in last few years with new commercial and residential buildings. Because of that and closeness to University this is a great opportunity to make new student housing and sport hall. nowadays the plot is not accessible and closed with fence, that’s why pedestrians have to walk all around it to get from bus station to school/ apartments/ shop and reverse. I wanted to solve that problem with different approach to find a solution. Whole plot has also large hight differences, it’s falling from south to north what we used as it’s advantage in the design pro-cess.

Main objectives in process of the project were sustainability, accessebility and make whole area welcoming for pedestrians.

In last year’s minicipality of Trondheim put large effort in developing public transportation and reducing the use of cars in city centre. In next few years their goal is completely move cars out of the centre which will be acceessi-ble only by bike or public transportation. We used this information in our project and came to the solution to move main entrance from the access road in the south, to northern part of the plot, where is bus stop and minimize parking spots. That is how we would encourage people to come to the site with public transportation instead of using cars. This also makes whole area more welcoming for pedestrians.

Whole project is made as two larger buildings- sport hall and swimming pool sitting on a base which is partially underground. In the pedes-tal we used difference in height to put main entrance and fitness to the north, where is the lower part of the plot and maintenance rooms behind it (underground).

for residential area we used most southern part of the plot, which is most distant from the road and sport hall and swimming pool are used as buffer zone to reduce noise. Student housing is designed as three buildings, two of them are connected.

processing location is on the north side of the area Westbahnhof in vienna. It is a highly industrialized area in a degraded environment due to noise pollution. location holds enor-mous potential to develop; it is located at the very centre of vienna’s railway passenger traf-fic. The location is problematic, due to a more exciting, southern, side opens onto the railway track, which is a noise problem, but offers a unique panorama of the industrial area, which transforms in older urban morphology.

The concept of the project is developing a green platform in which to insert a new area of parkland and cathartic cleanse space, thus deprived of his previous character and build a new, sustainable concept. This project brings together two crucial importance of modern ar-chitecture: architecture and archinature. Green platform is on two lane sections also deform

and thus gives existing green landscape quality is that the structure gives a feeling of lightness and fluidity. Thus, the platform does not behave in the neighbourhood as a foreign body, but as a structure that embraces the area and watch-ing over him. Through the platform is created with four openings through which rise buildings that dominate this area. facilities have a frac-tured, almost crystal structure and this give the impression as if it were raised through the plat-form and its incision breakthroughs that shifting of objects offering light stalls. on this location is created a three-partite structure consists of an empty open space below the platform, this void intersection green platform and greenery, and above it rise buildings-titanium.

The goal of the project was to build new acad-emy of art in the present art gallery of Maribor. This is historic and representative building of the city. Some parts of the building are protect-ed as cultural heritage and there are special rules how to meet the criteria. Behind that building there is abandoned street that needs revitalization. In the context of new academy we are going to integrate that street in the whole project and made new centre of art.

Some parts of the whole area we had left but others we had demolished and build new building. Some floor plans are conserved and we left the corners of the street and their façades untouched so we do not affect on the image of the historic streets and city centre, but in the narrow forgotten street there is a total new building which shows its artistic meaning outward.

Cilj naloge je bilo oblikovati novo akademijo za Umetnost na mestu obstoječe Umetnostne galerije Maribor, ki je historična in reprezen-tativna stavba mesta. nekateri deli objekta so zavarovani kot kulturna dediščina, za katero veljajo posebna pravila in kriteriji. v ozadju stavbe je zapuščena uličica, katera potrebuje revitalizacijo. v kontekstu nove akademije smo ulico integrirali v celoten projekt in ustvarili nov center umetnosti.

Nekatere dele območja obdelve smo pustili v stanju kakršnem so, ostala smo umičili in zgradili nov objekt. nekatera nadstropja so konzervirana, nedotaknjene smo ohranili vo-gale ulic in njihove fasade, tako da ne posega-mo v podobo historičnega centra in njegovih ulic, ampak v ozki in pozabljeni ulici se sedaj skriva nov obljekt, ki z zunanjostjo zrcali njegov umetniški pomen.

The present diploma work deals with the place-ment of “The house of experiments” in the vicinity of industrial area and TVT Boris Kidrič railway colony, with a tendency to revitalize and rejuvenate the area. Introduced program further enriches the cultural and scientific value of the city of Maribor, within the project “epK 2012 - european Capital of Culture”. The project is in future-oriented plan of land use. The diploma work is a complete unit with the urban - archi-tectural design of “The house of experiments”.

Pričujoče diplomsko delo, obravnava umeščan-je hiše eksperimentov na lokaciji v neposredni bližini industrijskega območja TVT Boris Kidrič in železničarske kolonije z namenom, da se prostor revitalizira in ponovno zaživi. Pred-stavljen program dodatno obogati kulturno in znanstveno vrednost mesta Maribor, znotraj projekta Maribor epK 2012 – evropska prestol-nica kulture. v nalogi je podan projekt v prihod-nost usmerjenega prostorskega načrta mesta. Diplomsko delo je zaključena celota z urbanis-tično - arhitekturno zasnovo Hiše eksperimen-tov.
