This Pre-Service teaching portfolio was forge and developed related to the teaching experience
of the author. This was not just for the requirement on BTED 4046 Practice Teaching, it is also
to provide and share information and ideas for those who will undergo with the same instances.
This portfolio contains memories of a student teacher who push forward to learn and to teach
students without waiting any return. With the use of this portfolio they can get some strategies
that they may use and I know it will be a big help to them. I believe that It is more blessed to

Teacher as everyone thinks is the 2nd parents of the students, thats why as a
teacher I must do right things thatll have a good reflection to the students.
Learning starts at home, so school as a second home must be a students house of
academic, moral, and social learning processor.
Experience is a great lecturer as well as a teacher, as a teacher the students must
experience good deeds and learning from you
The learning process inside the classroom must also be enjoyable, interactive, can
acquire so many new ideas and harm free to the students.
As a teacher you must thought students whats right from wrong, by your
guidance the students can evaluate himself and may probably know better about himself
Teacher must be student centered, you need to reach out those students who cant
do things compare to other.
Love the students like you love teaching, because the students is the main

Pre-Service Training was an essential practice by which aspiring person who wants to become a great teacher extend their knowledge on the field of teaching. Many teachers done that practice before they become a real teacher, this practice will help an individual to see the real classroom situation and by that he/she will find a way on how to have a great classroom management.
When we first enter the school vicinity, me personally was nervous of course even other person would feel the same way, stepping on an area that youre not familiar with. Arranging the papers so that we can start our teaching training at commonwealth high school, luckily the principal and the head teacher of the said school approved us. With their trust we know we can finish the training minimizing the failure that will surely appear during the training. Our first task was to make parol from recycled materials, that task was given to us during the meeting of the T.L.E department and humbly we accepted it, for me it was one great experience we did brainstorming together with the other student teacher from another school which were from earist we come up with a great idea making gold from scratch that is how I described it.
As the story continue, the t.l.e head teacher started our training by designating us on our own cooperating teacher which was Id be thankful, Mr. Virgilio Pingol was my cooperating teacher and a graduate on the same school which I currently studying. That encounter make me feel comfortable with him, he always gave me new idea, techniques and strategies on how to be a good teacher evolving it into great teacher. At first I was nervous meeting the students assigned on me, I mean section of students assigned on me, they always ask me Sir Anu po name mo which made me smile. Obtaining little by little confidence every time I meet them, sir pingol ask me Are you ready and my answer was ofcourse sir, Im born ready *that was a joke* but half meant, giving me guidelines of lesson to teach to those students of mine.
Many events happen on the said school while were practice teaching like students events, yearend party of students and faculty, mapeh program and other program that brings back the memories of my high school days. Back to the main topic I started teaching with topics on handicrafts which was about its tools the edge-cutting and sharpening tools, honestly Im confidence with my preparation for the said topics, I discussed it well and prcised just like how teachers do their task, I wont be able to do that without the guidance of my cooperating teacher Mr. Virgilio Pingol. As my training goes on, I encounter some faults of mine occurred during those discussion, seriously at first I felt down but taking back my mind Ive used those faults to make my way of teaching more better that ever, technically we cant dodge faults it is normal to have that as a person but of course to be strong you need to use that as your motivator to be a stronger person.
During my journey Ive encounter some problems made by students like bullying and other forms of it that harm their co students, so as a practice teaching I also practice on handling that situation, fortunately they listened on me. The way I speak and communicate to them was not serious, I interact with a little bit of humor and jokes so that we became comfortable in a much better relationship as a teacher and students. Discussing those topics with my funny related jokes, I consider them as my younger sister and brother, but of course as a teacher never forget that youre the second parents of the students.

As the training goes by I never making lesson plan habitually and continuously, strengthen my knowledge about it. Doing every discussion in front of many people boosted my confidence than ever. Greeting and being greet made me felt wonderful each day. Doing what I think was better made me better.
After those hardship that Ive done I gain enough knowledge to go to the competitive world. Someday Ill become a great teacher who teaches his students with love and care, Ill forge them the way my teachers in the past and present forge and builds what me right now. The experience that Id acquired on Commonwealth High School will serves as my stepping stone and baseline in the near future.

The teacher will ask the students about the tooth-cutting that has been tackled and discussed last meeting. Twist: Limited questions only
The students will competitively raise their hand, and the teacher will give a question to the student who first raise hand.
3. Motivation The students will going to guest every pictures of the tools that will show up in front of the class. The first one who will had right answer get the grade.
4. Unlocking Difficulties a. Edge the outside limit of an object, area or surface, a place or part
farthest away from the center of something.

b. Plane a flat surface on which a straight line joining any two points on it would wholly lie.
B. Presentation of the Lesson
The teacher will show actual and images of edge-cutting and sharpening tools and it will discuss in front of the students, showing function, uses and purposes of it.
EDGE-CUTTING TOOLS
a. Thin Shears are otherwise called tin snips or snips. They are properly used for cutting tin and other soft sheet metal.
b. Drawknife a tool with a blade about 1- to 12 inches long , with a handle on each end and is used to remove a large amount of stock which is too thick for planing and too thin for shaving.

c. Block Plane is a plane having a single iron plane which is placed with the beveled side up. It is used for planing end of grain of wood.
d. Spoke shave is a tool used for smoothing irregular surfaces on all kinds of works. It has a handle on each side. It has two kinds: the curve spoke shave which is used to form concave edged and the flat spokes have which is used to plane convex edges.
e. Chisels is a cutting tool with a sharp bevel at one end. It is used to pare, gauge and engrave. It is also used for cutting and shaping. There are two general types: the socket firmer which is intended on heavy duty work and the tanged firmer which is for light work.
f. Hatchet is another carpenters used when a large amount of waste material is to be removed. A claw is sometimes provided for pulling out nails, also face which makes it useful as a hammer.
SHARPENING TOOLS
a. Whetstone is a stone used for sharpening the edge of cutting tools. Water is used while whetting. Whetting is a process of sharpening by rubbing or grinding.

b. Oilstone is a special stone used after whetting. It resembles white marble with a very fine surface but the other side is course. Oil is used while sharpening.
c. Grindstone is sometimes called an emery wheel. This is usually power driven. This is used if the cutting edge of plane iron is nicked or worn out. Water is used while grinding.
d. Triangular File is used for sharpening saws and auger bits. It comes in different sizes.
C. Generalization Edge-cutting tools comprises of tin shears, draw knife, block plane, spoke shave, chisel and hatchet. Sharpening tools comprises of whetstone, oilstone, grindstone and triangular file. These tools used in cutting, shaving planing, shaping and curving wood. Also used to sharpen the cutting edge of tools used in handicraft.
D. Application The teacher will call students randomly and every student being called will answer the question being ask by the teacher in front.

a. Improvise make something up on spot: to perform or compose something,
especially a sketch, play, song, or piece of music, without any preparation or set text to follow, substitute.
b. Vise too for keeping tings immobile: a tool with two jaws that can be closed by a lever or screw, used to hold an object. Immobile so that it can be worked on.
c. Solder something that form a bond or union
B. Presentation of the lesson EQUIPMENT a. Work Bench (a.k.a working table) maybe single or double bench carpenters
table: a table or surface o which work is done, e.g by a carpenter or mechanic
b. Bench Stop maybe a metal mixture with bolt and nut for adjustment or a piece of wood usually 1 thick, 1 to 2 wide. It is provided with a hole on
top of the planks of the bench. It is intended for holding small pieces of wood while planing.
c. Vises are composed of different kinds such as: 1. Rapid Acting Vise made to hold any stock with quick slide and lock it
by turning its handle to a certain point. 2. Machinist Vise usually made for all purposes. The system of adjusting it
is of a screw type by turning its handle until the stock is clamped. 3. Screw Vise is usually available with a screw type provided with a
handle.

4. Improvised Vise is totally made of wood. It may be a bar clamp attached to a work bench provided with a set or wedges or a threaded bolt this is used with two pieces of hard wood serving as the jaw.
OTHER HANDTOOLS
a. Skinning Knife it is used in thinning the edges of thick leather.
b. Beveler it is used for beveling the edges of a design in leather.
c. Blow Torch it is portable device for securing intense local heat. It is used when working with rattan.
d. Shader this is used for removing the outer skin of bamboo. It is used as a drawknife.
e. Width Sizer it is used for sizing bamboo splints.
f. Soldering Copper it is a soldering tool, heated with a charcoal or maybe with a blow torch.
C. Generalization
Equipment are comprises by work bench, bench stop and vises and the other hand tools are skinning knife, beveler, blow torch, shader and width sizer.
These tools used for other work in handicraft, small tool means a lot. Having these small and equipment type tools are big help on handicraft work, they can also make the work more efficient and faster.
D. Application The teacher will call students randomly and every student being called will answer the question being ask by the teacher.

12. DC MA Rance use to measure small amount of current (ampere).
13. Negative Socket use for negative test probe.
14. Positive Socket use for positive test probe.
15. Zero Ohm Adjuster use to ensure the accuracy of Ohm measurement, every time you shift from one range to another.
16. Zero Corrector use to adjust the pointer exactly to zero, to ensure the accuracy of measurement every time you shift from one range to another.
17. Output Socket use to measure the output signal of an amplifier.
C. Generalization
Multimeter is a very important instrument to the technician and electrician. The interpretation of meter reading gives a clues to troubleshooting of any circuit components and mostly appliances and gadgets. The knowledge on the different parts of Multimeter can effect on how to use and care on the instrument.
