Aaron Ryan is a young, self-taught, up and coming artist. Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, he grew up shooting the local skate scene and is still inspired by skate films today. He shot this ‘Hometown Glory’ editorial as a contributor for onestowatch.com. The pictures in this edi-torial exude a lot of attitude and energy. Ryan depicts teenage rebellion and manages to give it a hint of innocence. The washed out look of the photographs and a certain movement, visible in most shots, contribute to making the shots look authentic. I think that this is a style of photography that he definitely needs to stick to because it seems like it comes natural to him. Ryan would love to work with Lara Stone and Johnny Depp, who I think would both fit perfectly in one of his raw and rebellious style editorials.
