The course project was to design a Museum of Contemporary Art for Austin, Texas. A few specifics the program included (that are provided in this sample) are a ‘grand space’ lobby, an outside movie theater with a projection wall, and a commercial space.

Towards the end of the semester we were allowed to pick one of four specializations: architecture, energy, project management, and structures. I chose architectural with a focus on Revit renderings and masses. The entire elevator shaft (visible in the lobby views) was created piece by piece from dimensions and specifications provided by Otis Elevator Company.

An attempt provide the structural support for a walkway crossing the lobby while remaining visually interesting

the second floor including a side view of the elevator

The topography of the floor was devised to hide the elevator’s mechanical room
