ABSOLUT ARCHITECTURE
(conceptual) Burned forest
2003. 2th year
Tutor: Carlos Macedo
“Imagine that a dark cube containing all the knowledge of the Universe was found in a burned forest. How would it be pos-sible to reveal its content through architecture?” So first I designed a diagrammatic and geometrical expansion of a square (through its own rotation and increase) that matches another equal diagram on top. The materialization of those dia-grams results in a pure spatial structure of contemplation where the light is filtered by its interpenetrations and gaps.
CITY MUSEUM FOR THE 21th CENTURY - megastruture
Sete Rios, Lisbon
2008. 5th year
Tutor: Nuno Mateus (ARX)
A city museum is a place where the city is processed and archived at the same time. A city museum is also a symbolic reproduc-tion of the city itself. So this project presents a complex structure (made of volumes that fit in each other and connect with each oth-er) that is beyond its own limits as it creates interstitial spaces between those volumes. There are as well several layers (interior, ex-terior, green spaces and fluxes (cars, trains, people)), which are on the basis of any city, that are combined in this just one structure.

KINDERGARTEN+CULTURAL CENTER
Beato, Lisbon
2007. 4th year
TUTOR: Jõao Morais
The program for this project was made of two distinct parts: a kindergarten and a cultural center. How to combine a public use with chil-dren? The solution was to make two independent volumes with just a few controlled connections (so the children can also use the cul-tural activities), which are linked by a central square, from which people can access both parts. This square is also a transition be-tween the city and this building. Those volumes have also a sensitive relationship with the surroundings and with the topography.

URBAN PLAN
Beato, Lisbon
2006. 4th year
TUTOR: Jõao Morais
This plan was made for a very specific morphology and topography. It is composed of four sight platforms/paths, in two dis-tinct levels, that come from the preexisting city and lead people to this place. From those platforms people can contemplate the river, that has a really strong presence here. To connect the platforms we have four volumes that go towards the river.
UNIVERSITY FORUM
University City, Lisbon
2005. 4th year
TUTOR: José Afonso
This building is made of three volumes. The central one is reserved for all inner circulations (galleries). The others, for exhibition halls. On tops we have, on one side, a reflecting pool (and the building seems to float on it), and, on the other, a connection with a library.

The theme here was how to compose a modular building. We have habitation modules (three levels typologies and one level typolo-gies) that interpenetrate in each others. People can access from the middle floor, the public floor, and then go upstairs or down-stairs to the private areas. Some of the modules are public stairs which are transversal to all floors. This is a system of repetition.
