Aviation MuseumThe objective of this assignment was to design a museum that specifically displays relics and historical artefacts related to Indonesia’s aviation history. The site is located near the Husein Sastranegara Airport and landing strip in Bandung, Indonesia.

Based on local legend, Indonesians have dreamt of aviation since palatial times, as depicted in the tales of the legendary wayang hero Gatot Kaca who has the ability to fly.This design is inspired by the shape and curve of Gatot Kaca’s wings. The shape is then applied to the main building of the museum, which houses an airplane and its spare parts.

The objective of this assignment was to design a mid-range apartment situated in the center of Dago, a very busy and lively commercial district in Bandung. The main challenge was to create a private atmosphere for the tenants, even though the apartment is located in a very public neighborhood.

The site has 3 possible access points. The East side is accessible from Jl. Ir. H. Djuanda. The South side is a hook at the intersection between Jl. Ir. H. Djuanda and Jl. Rangga Malela. And the West side is accessible from Jl. Rangga Malela, which is residential in nature.

Based on these various characteristics, the apartment zoning can be determined.The red mass is more public, consisting of commercial spaces like restaurants, a salon, a convenience store, and small shops.The yellow mass is residential, consisting of apartment units and private gardens for tenants.The market target for this particular apartment are small families, single tenants, or young couples.

Special School for the DeafThis school is specifically designed for the deaf, to educate children ranging from 7 - 15 years of age. The site is located at Sersan Bajuri, Bandung, completed with dormitories, outdoor recreation facilities, classrooms, and laboratories. The school is designed to suit the tropical climate and adopts a rather traditional style, to help students grow comfortably in a homey environment.

The site is deemed suitable for a special school because of its suburban and residential surroundings. Less traffic, less polution, and safer for children.
