Library Pavilion

For a school proj-ect we were asked to create a pavilion anywhere inside our school campus. The concept relied on a previous un-derground hallway that used to con-nect two of the main classroom build-ings, passing below our school library. It was intended to be achieved with a

minimal interven-tion, where by pro-viding the right ac-cess and enough lighting; a display space is created in one of the busiest places on campus.

River Pavilion

The Project asks for an interven-tion in Paseo de Uribitarte in front of the river, in Bilbao, Spain. Because of the importance of the pedestian axis in the city, the pro-posal is a small project for bycicle rental, that re-sponds contextu-

ally to the elements around , resolv-ing the inmediate need and gener-ating views to the river. The Project is composed of 4 tall planters that function as cover-ing for the bycicle stand, generating the program be-low them and try-ing to resemble to

the structure that is beneat the walking street which can be seen from the oth-er side of the river.

House No. 3

A solid concrete piece half buried in the topography which protects the privet life and the view towards woods. A lighter second piece of steel touch-es the land in four points, raising the views beyond the woods, allowing the use of the swimming pool and the roof gar-den of the first piece.

Bicentenni-al School

This project seeks a social commitment towards education. Based in an eco-nomic, efficient and stimulating archi-tectonic proposal, it demands for drastic change in the nation-al education system, based on the fact that education is the base of our society.

Arquine ARK 2010

12th Arquine Interna-tional CompetitionA R K - F l o o d O b s e r v a t o r yFloods are natural phenomena. Their impact can come to devastate vil-lages built in their path. The Usuma-cinta Observa-tory will be used to study the rises in the river, de-fine infrastructural projects to contain

floods and, at the same time, provide refuge for the af-fected population. The ARK should be a project that raises awareness about a reality that is as hazardous as is it inevitable. It is not foreseen that the water be retained by either dams or reservoirs.

The ARK is planted as a fruit tree, like a factory which conceives a fragmented pro-gram releasing into the river its various seed units. The units will be the seeding equip-ment (health cen-ters, schools, hos-tels and refuge) like if they were floating seeds in all the Usumacinta River. By trans-

forming and edu-cating our society, we will learn to live within the water.
