TIDES
Great depth on the approach to the harbor and the waters of the port, in the absence of obstacles for navigation allow smooth and safe sail into the harbor. Depth at the piers are large: the NW pier minimum depth along the coast is 6.6 meters, while the S pier minimum depth of 7.7 meters along the coast. It should be noted that the moorings in the harbor are exposed to S and SW winds and waves that these winds create.
Port of Zelenika has functions as commercial ports registered for international maritime traffic and the function of the border crossing where foreign marine vessels (pleasure crafts) carry out the necessary procedures for entering the waters of Montenegro. The border crossing is using NW pier port 134 meters in length and separated by a fence from the rest of the port. On the pier of the border crossing there are eight bollards for mooring, two connections for power and two port connection for loading fuel and hydrants for water. Port is using SW pier length of 130 meters. On the pier there are nine bollards for berthing, two connection for power and water hydrants. Large ships can anchor in the area between Zelenika and Kumbor and this is the best place for anchorage in Herceg Novi bay.
On the Montenegrin coast medium amplitude of tides (the difference of medium high water and medium low water) is 23 cm. Medium amplitude, between the middle-higher high water and middle-lower low water is 29 cm. The amplitude between the highest monthly and lowest monthly middle value is 64.1 cm. Absolute registered extremes in relation to the hydrographic level at which they reduced the depth of the charts are 87 cm above and 42 cm below the hydrographic level. It follows that the maximum amplitude of the registered changes in sea level off the coast of Montenegro, caused by tides 131 cm. The water level in average rises highest in October, November and December, and the lowest value is lowered in the summer months.

CLIMATE
For significant and attractive position, between the mountains Orjen (1895 m) and the entrance of one of the most beautiful bays in the world Boka Bay, lies the amphitheater of Herceg Novi, the youngest medieval buildings in the Adriatic.Located at 42°27’ north latitude and 18° 33’ east longitude. Municipality of Herceg Novi covers an area of 235 km2 and has a population of 30 864 (Census 2011).
The area of the Bay of Kotor has a humid subtropical climate with significantly more rain in the winter than in the summer. Herceg Novi has a specific microclimate, which is a result of southern exposition, proximity to the sea, limestone substratum and mountainous hinterland which prevents the breakthrough of cold air masses.Herceg Novi has approximately 200 sunny days a year. In July and August there are approximately 11 sunny hours per day. Average annual temperature is 16.2°C. Average temperature from May to September is about 25°C, and the average summer sea temperature is rather high, between 22–26°C.The annual average precipitation is 1.930 mm.Relative air humidity is at its highest level, 80%, in the fall. Its lowest level, 63%, comes in the summer.
