GETTING TO GALONG BY ROAD From Sydney (330kms) take the Hume Highway. Eighteen klms north of Yass (and thirteen klms on from the Yass Service Centre) on the Hume Highway turn right into the Harden exit on Burley Griffin Way (State Route 94), which has been re-routed around Bowning. Drive on through Binalong and for a further 10 klms towards Harden to the Bouyeo - Galong crossroad. Take the right hand turn to Galong village and follow the signs to St Clement’s. From Canberra (111 kms) take the Barton Highway which joins the Hume Highway near Yass. Take the Melbourne-Gundagai Exit. On the Hume Highway take Burley Griffin Way R.94 as above. Buses run daily from Canberra Civic at 9.47am arriving at Galong at 11.45am. From Melbourne (603 kms) branch off Hume Highway at the Jugiong exit and take the Jugiong-Harden Road; turn right at Harden and continue along Burley Griffin Way towards Yass for 20 kms. Take the left hand turn at Galong/ Bouyeo crossroads to Galong village and follow the signs to St Clement’s. BY TRAIN From Sydney The nearest station is Harden. The 7.42am XPT from Sydney arrives at 12.18 pm. Retreatants are met at the Harden Station and driven to Galong. ($20 pp return) The return Sydney train now leaves Harden at 3.13pm arriving in Sydney at 7.54pm. From Melbourne. Please book ticket & luggage to Galong (not Harden). The 8.30am XPT arrives at Cootamundra at 2.37 pm where the CountryLink bus meets the train and at 3.35pm arrives in Galong village where you will be met by a courtesy car and driven to the Retreat Centre. The bus leaves Galong at 11.45am for the return journey with the train arriving in Melbourne train at 6.55pm. GETTING TO GALONG

The Mother of God and Our New Life. Friday 17 – Friday 24 January

‘The New Evangelisation: Contemporary Challenges to Mission and Attunement to the Needs of the World.’

With like minded women and men this program will be an opportunity to grow in understanding and practice of the gift we have all received at Baptism, to make the Mystery of God’s love alive and active in the lives of everyone we meet. The program will be of particular interest to people directly involved in pastoral ministry. It will also be an opportunity to catch enthusiasm and benefit from the wisdom and experience of the two presenters.

This three day retreat, from Friday evening meal to Sunday lunch, is a follow-on from the Summer School. The retreat is also available to participants who have not attended the workshop.

Accommodation

Unless otherwise stated accommodation will be in single rooms with shared bathroom facilities. Most rooms are air conditioned, comfortably furnished and have wireless Internet access.

Subject to availability ensuite accommodation may be offered at an additional cost of $20 per night.

The Centre’s rural setting has extensive surroundings with walks to various parts of the property so bring your walking shoes, hats and sunscreen. A swimming pool is available for the use of retreatants during the warmer months.

Costs Our registration fee includes all meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner, morning and afternoon teas), bed linen and towels. Tea making facilities, chilled water, biscuits and fresh fruit are available at all times.

Deposits A non-refundable deposit of $60 per person is required to confirm a booking.

Special Diets We regret that we are unable to cater for special diets other than vegetarian, gluten-free and diabetic diets. Dietary preferences must be advised at least 14 days prior to the commencement of the retreat.

Extremes of temperature Galong can experience fluctuations ranging from minus temperatures in winter to 40⁰C in summer. Our buildings are air-conditioned but please dress accordingly to maximise your comfort.

Medical facilities The closest pharmacies, medical facilities and ambulances are at Harden (21 klms).
