Dressing for the office is not always an easy sea to navigate. You want to look confident and professional while maintaining a sense of fashion and adhering to dress codes. Younger women should be concerned about looking polished and professional, but the more mature woman should strive to always look polished, professional and fashionable, so that she is not seen as ‘past her professional prime’.

ADD SOME PUNCH TOYOUR WORK WARDROBE

6 Fun Tips to Upgrading Your Work Style Attire

Photos: Pink scarf © Africa Studio - Fotolia.com; black purse © alarsonphoto - Fotolia.com; black dress © Lexa_1112 - Fotolia.com.

Speak Softly, But Carry a Statement BagYour bag is not only a carry-all - you can use it to add individuality, punch and power. Traditional colors such as black, navy, and tan will always be safe but should not stop you from being able to sport bags with a little flare from embellishments and prints.

For a more professional look, stick with structured silhouettes. Stay away from shapes and materials that are considered too casual, such as canvas or hobo bags. Use a vintage leather briefcase, animal print satchel, or a black tote with metal hardware to add elegance and sophistication to your look.

5. Belt ItThere is a powerful impact in creating an hourglass silhouette. A belt will highlight your curves and cinch your waist, giving you a figure-flattering streamlined shape. Belts with metal hardware or just with simple yet elegant leather can work wonders in making you look more pulled together. A more interesting look would be to wear it over your blazer, or tuck your shirt in to show off more of the belt’s details.

Layers of StyleA layered office look will always stand out from the pant-suit and neutral wearing crowd. It makes use of different finishes and prints to make the ensemble look more exciting and multidimensional. Layer a sweater over a striped button-down shirt or a military jacket over a crisp tailored white shirt. With the many ways there are to do unexpected pairings, your work style can always look more dashing and smart.

1. Be Scarf-SavvyA scarf can pull double duty as a chic add-on or a piece to keep you warm and comfy. Use it to add a splash of print or a pop of color to your outfit or to blend two solid colored garments into a unified outfit.

Have Fun with FootwearDon’t limit your office look to the staple black and nude pump. To add pizazz to a monochromatic or neutral colored outfit, use red or animal print pumps. If you DO NOT work in a conservative professional environment, you can show some character and flare when choosing your footwear. When in doubt opt for closed toed styles.

Make a StatementWearing chunky bracelets, earrings or over-sized cocktail rings can be cumbersome while working. Your best bet in displaying some bling at the office is to sport a statement necklace. This type of jewelry instantly adds fun and edgy flavor to your work style attire and is a guaranteed way to show more of your personality at work.63 4

FASHION: THE GOODS || YOUR LIFESTYLE

IT'S ALL ABOUT THOSE SOCKS

Sock it to me...Colorful, patterned – with personality is the new black. Thanks to new sock companies like Stance and Happy Socks, men are winning at the sock game. No longer are the fellas exiled to the boring section of men’s furnishings - sorting through black, gray and navy ribbed socks.

1) If you are going for a very formal look – wear black socks with a black suit or navy with navy.

2) For everyday wear – you can match your socks to your slacks – but stay away from matching your socks to your shoes – it will look like you have on booties...then again - if you are sporting your desert boots – your sock choice is not a huge concern.

3) Socks can go rogue – I know a guy who matches his socks to the event – for example, heart socks for weddings, holiday socks, etc. – this is where you can make a personal statement. As long as the sock is in the same color family as the rest of your suiting. You might choose to pick up the spectrum from your tie – or you can go for another color altogether – just make sure it’s in line with your overall tone.

4) This goes without saying – but make sure the socks you’ve selected match each other and have no visible holes.

5) Dress socks for men should go to the knee. This may seem old fashioned but have you ever been at a meeting across from the guy whose socks are too short – resulting in a flash of hairy white skin between the sock and the suit? Distracting. Not recommended.

Socks are not necessarily the furnishing most men think of first – but they can really elevate a boring suit. Kick up your heels and try something new.

YOUR LIFESTYLE || YOUR PETS

ANIMAL PSYCHOLOGY:FACT OR FANTASY?

© Gstudio Group - Fotolia.comBy Dawne Richards

Recently, an online coupon for an "accredited animal psychology course" landed in our inbox. Curious cats that we are, we felt compelled to learn more. As veterans/victims of beloved pets who, over the years, have demonstrated behavior ranging from the sublime to the sociopathic, we've long felt that these behaviors

were, on some level, deliberate attempts to torment us. And we know, we know, we are "supposedly" in charge of our pets' behavior. Mostly.

Given this, when this "$175 value! Yours for only $19!" offer arrived, we were, to put it mildly, intrigued. Could $19 really be all that was standing in the way between us and, well, Lassie? Or incredibly well-behaved cats who would be transformed from feline tormentors into fluffy balls of companionship? Or birds who would somehow learn to suppress their night vision capabilities and stop.chirping,all.night - despite the various blackout cage covers ("guaranteed to work!") we'd tried? Or a fish who - never mind, the fish is the most well-behaved living thing in this house, including the plants, who have a distressing tendency to wither and die, in part because those fabulous felines believe that every living green thing must surely contain catnip within its foliage.

The course covers the behavior of dogs, cats, and rabbits. We figured we'd find another avenue to silence the birds (we know what you're thinking, and you're wrong).

The various courses are taught by people characterized as experts in their field, and accredited by a suspiciously named standards council. There was much ado about "bonding" with one's pet. Personally speaking, we feel very bonded - in the same way one is bonded to one's surly 13-year-old human. Hey kids! We love you, but we often entertain murderous fantasies.

We eagerly attempted to read the reviews of these courses, but were disappointed to find only three, all of which had to do with the quality of the learning experience, not actual results. Hmmm....

In any event, if you were hoping we'd tell you that we took the course, and were expecting a thorough review - um, no. Not this time! Our advice? Save your $19 and invest in a great local dog trainer. It IS mostly you that they'll be training, but this is a class that we truly believe is best taken face-to-face. Good luck!

YOUR LIFESTYLE|| MARITAL MINUTES

By Dr. Gina and Jim Stafford

This Valentine's Day, we challenge you and your spouse to show how much you love each other by spending as little money as possible and instead give each other something far more valuable. We are challenging you to share your passion, time and creativity with each other! Anyone can purchase a gift - why is that special if the gift is expected?

The most valuable gift comes from the heart. We challenge you to find unique non-monetary ways to show your love to each other this Valentine's Day. Showing someone you care can be as simple as a hand written note, craft, or a picnic.

We would love you to share your Valentine's Day Challenge experience with us on Facebook and Twitter: #maritalminutes.

Say “No” to the stress of the ordinary and say “Yes” to the extraordinary (LOVE) by taking the Valentine’s Day Challenge!

INTRODUCING "MARITAL MINUTES"© James Stafford Photography

Over the course of their relationship they have faced ups and downs, especially since three out of the four sons were diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Despite the obstacles that came their way, their marriage has grown stronger. People who know the couple always ask how they do it. The answer is that with hard work and faith anything is possible. The couple decided to share their story, their strategies, and their lives with other couples to assist them in building a relationship just as strong as their own. Each month, we'll bring you their words of wisdom, devoted to helping couples explore the many issues facing marriages today. Read more about this engaging couple at maritalminutes.com.

NEXT GENERATION

|||||||||▐ school news you can use: using tech to make learning fun

your kidsSchool districts across the nation are attempting to keep pace with the rapid growth of technology and the ever-increasing availability of hardware and software. The Broward County Public Schools Innovative Learning & Arts Department is doing their part to bring technology to the students through their Digital Infusion Programs. Started during the 2013-14 school year the Digital 5: Pathways to Personalized Learning program provided roughly 3,200 fifth graders from 27 district elementary schools with laptop computers. Currently the Digital 5 program is in 69 Broward County elementary schools. In addition to providing students with laptops, the Digital 5 initiative provides extensive professional learning and digital reading, math, and science curriculum resources to participating 5th grade teaches.

At the middle school level, Digital Infusion 6 provides Math and English Language Arts classrooms with access to a student laptop cart and current digital curriculum aligned to the new Florida Standards Assessment (FSA). Although the laptops are not sent home with the students, the students have 24/7 access to the digital curriculum. Similarly at the high school level, Digital Infusion 9 is provided for English Language Arts classrooms.

For our county’s native speakers of languages other than English, the Digital Developmental Language Arts (DLA) program is being offered

at select middle and high schools. According to the Innovative Learning & Arts Department this project is intended “to enable English language learners to control their pace, place and path of instruction by using digital devices and digital curriculum content” (http://innovativelearning.browardschools.com/digital-programs.html).

Many Broward County Public School teachers are using technology to enhance their curriculum and as a tool for bringing fun and excitement into classrooms filled with students who are “digital natives”. After speaking with many teachers, I have concluded that some of the “favorite” technology resources currently being used are Edmodo, Kahoot!, and Weebly. Edmodo is a resource that lets users interact in a way similar to Facebook; Edmodo is great for collaboration and communication. Kahoot! is similar to a quiz show in that the teacher creates multiple choice questions and students use their mobile phone to remotely select an answer. After seeing Kahoot! used in a high school Social Studies classroom I can see how much fun this resource can be. Finally, Weebly is an easy to use website builder that allows students to demonstrate their knowledge in a truly 21st century way. Regardless of the tool used, infusing technology into the classroom can be a fun and meaningful way to engage students.

FEBRUARY IS FOR LOVERSOne of the most romantic things

to do around Valentine’s Day is to create a special dinner for just the two of you. Even better is to celebrate your relationship with

some new ideas in the kitchen. How about coming to The Heart of The Gourmet, where you'll learn to make anything ordinary taste extraordinary with splashes of tantalizing flavors? Healthy eating is the new 'hot'. Our classes held throughout the week will put you right in the mood.

So often in our classes, we hear "They're the cook, not me." Now even the novice can learn to make simple food taste like they were prepared by a gourmet chef. It really is that easy. How romantic will it be when the 'non-cook' serves up a heartfelt meal? Talk about turning a relationship up a notch!

Some great flavor pairings are Fig Balsamic with Blood Orange Olive oil - what a romantic pairing. Citrus Habanero oil with Garlic Cilantro Balsamic is a "hot" idea, and of course Chocolate Balsamic smothered with some Meyer Lemon Oil is a sumptuous combo that can be used on whatever your Valentine’s day special "dessert"' is.

Come in, and share some quality time, and ideas together. It's fun. It's romantic and remember, if it comes from the heart, it has to taste good!

So, our Auto Tech and Body’s front office staff polled 150 of our customers regarding their favorite cars. We had one major question to ask:

If money was not an issue, which fun car would you like to own? Would it be your fantasy car that you would drive every day?

The answers were very different and interesting - depending on age, social status and sex (men opted for the fastest and women opted for the sexiest looking sports car)… We have the right to dream, analyze and think of our most favorite car. And who says a dream can’t come true? The idea of fantasizing about selecting, owning, and driving your dream car can put anyone in a happy place. Below are the top 20 most talked about cars for the year 2015:

1. Porsche 918 Spyder "It's fast, well designed, and easy to maneuver."2. Ferrari 458 "This is Italian Handcrafted piece of art to drive and show case to my friends.”3. Ford Mustang "Since childhood, I have always wanted to get a black or red Mustang.

I already own the 2010 but my goal is to get the new 2015.just loved the style and the power.”

4. Bugatti Veyron “This is one of the best cars in the world. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport Vitesse’s top speed to close to 270 mph. It is pure automotive bullet.”

5. McLaren MP4-12C “I like the sleek look and the fact that I will be one of few that would own the McLaren gives is a special appeal.”

6. Lamborghini Aventador "It's a dream machine with a beautiful design - it speeds from 0-65 mph in few seconds.”

7. Chevy Corvette Stingray “It is sleek, stylish, sporty and young looking.”8. Audi R8: “Because it has that understated luxury, class and sporty enough to drive daily.”9. Chevy Camaro “Because it is a chick magnet.”10. Lamborghini Reventón "It's speed, luxury and style. Enough said.”11. Tesla Model S “It is a green speedy machine that doesn’t scream girly.”12. Lamborghini Countach “It reminds me of a Sci-Fi Movie… it is my dream car.”13. Koenigsegg Agera R “This is a Swedish car. Unless you are a car buff, you would not

have heard about it… It is one of the fastest cars around and sleek. It features 1140 horsepower from a turbocharged 5.0 liter and V8 engine that runs on Biofuel.”

14. Nissan GT-R “Yes, it is pricey for a Nissan – around $90 K - but it is a super car. It changes from 0-60 mph in less that 2.9 seconds.”

15. Ariel Atom “I know it is not a road car but I like racing and if I have a choice of cars then I will get the Ariel Atom. It speeds from 0-60 mph in less than 2.3 seconds.”

16. Jaguar F Type “Now, this would be the best $60-$70k I would spend on a car.”17. Porsche Cayman “It has a 7 speed automatic or a 6 speed manual and it drives like a

dream. It is great for daily use and yet impressive for weekend outings.”18. Alfa Romeo 4C “This is the sexiest Italian exotic car that handles the road well and can

race with the best cars and yet win.”19. Mercedes AMG-GT “This would be my favorite sport car. It fits 2 golf bags in the trunk

and yet its speed tops to 193 mph in few seconds.”20. Acura NSX “This is a high tech supercar. I am not a show off but I can drive this car

and really show it off.”

TAKE CARE

HEART HEALTHY INFORMATIONAndre Landau, MD, FACCCardiologist & Medical Director of BHN Cardiac Services

What can a person do to maintain a healthy heart?Be aware of risk factors that cause heart disease. Specifically, 1. Stop smoking.2. Check your cholesterol profile (total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL good cholesterol, and LDL bad cholesterol), and fasting blood sugar.3. Perform aerobic exercise for at least 30 minutes, five times per week. This could include anything from walking to taking zumba classes.4. Check your body mass index (BMI).5. Always consult your physician before making significant lifestyle changes to find out what’s right for you.

Does aspirin really help the heart?Yes. Aspirin is a blood thinner that reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke, also known as brain attacks. Ask your doctor if you should take aspirin.

What are big no-no’s for a healthy heart?First and foremost, don’t smoke. Avoid excessive alcohol consumption (more than two drinks per day). This adds unnecessary calories, raises triglycerides and damages the heart muscle in the long term. This is especially true of beer.

What should someone do if they are experiencing chest pain?Cardiac chest pain is usually specific. It is dull, located in the central or front part of the chest, lasts a few minutes, occurs generally with moderate to severe exertion or severe psychosocial stress, and is relieved by rest. It may mimic indigestion. Always seek medical attention.

What are good foods for the heart?Mediterranean diets, those that are rich in grains, nuts and olive oil, are heart healthy.Maintain a low carb diet, and reduce the amount of bread, rice, potatoes and pasta you eat.

Are there routine medical tests that should be done for the heart? No medical test is considered routine. Based on your risk factor profile and symptoms, your doctor may order specific tests. These include:1. Fasting cholesterol profile if you have a family history.2. Chest X-ray for smokers.3. A stress test and chest X-ray for those experiencing chest pain. 4. Lipid profile, fasting blood glucose and kidney function for the overweight, or those with high blood pressure or diabetes.

What heart-related services are provided by Broward Health North?Broward Heath North provides many services at the hospital’s cardiopulmonary department. Basic heart services are available along with stress testing, echocardiography, Holter monitoring, tilt table testing, cardiac catheterization and stenting. Patients can also have their current pacemakers evaluated and new ones put in or changed. The same goes for patients with defibrillators.

About Andre Landau, MD:Dr. Landau, MD, FACC, is a board-certified cardiologist and has been on staff at Broward Health North since August 2010. He received his medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School in Johannesburg, South Africa.

He completed his residency at Baragwanath Hospital and at State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn, where he served as chief resident. World War II Aircraft Land in StuartTHE "WINGS OF FREEDOM" TOUR KICKS OFF ITS 25th YEARPhotos by Jim Stafford

On a clear, crisp, mid-January afternoon, three fully functional WWII aircraft, including a B-17 Flying Fortress, a B-24 Liberator, and P-51Mustang arrived at Martin County Airport–Witham Field. Our very own Jim Stafford was lucky enough to photograph the event, and - best of all - participate in the flights.

The planes landed at Atlantic Aviation for the first 2015 stop of the Collings Foundation's "Wings of Freedom Tour." All three aircraft were at the airport the entire weekend, offering flights and tours to the public.

Note: For more information about the Collings Foundation, visit collingsfoundation.org. This event was presented in conjunction with the Stuart Air Show, and benefited Southeast Florida Honor Flights. You can learn more about the Stuart Air show, and find links to Southeast Florida Honor Flights, at stuartairshow.com.

Also, at press time, the tour was scheduled to make a stop in Pompano Beach at the end of January. If you were lucky enough to attend, let us know!

Renaissance FestivalPhotos by: Bob Carlson

The 23rd Annual

“ iving, breathing theater is what you experience at the Florida Renaissance Festival,” said Bobby Rodriguez, Founder. “Every day is a new experience, every day is a passport to a journey complete with fairytale and fantasy.”

AA visit to the Florida Renaissance Festival is like a trip through time. As an observer you will be immersed in the fun and fantasy played out by the entertaining staff. And if you so choose you can join the many attendees who are in full character. Throughout the festival you will find a variety of craftsmen who hand craft some of the finest period pieces for purchase. If you have not been to this festival I would highly recomend a visit. There is fun for all.

NewNew acts in the 2015 festival season- Cast in Bronze will bring the haunting beauty of the carillon to more patrons by demonstrating its versatility with other instruments. The carillons of Cast in Bronze consist of 35 bells weighing four tons each.

One of the highlights of the festival this year is Cirque du Sewer the world’s only girl and rat circus performing feats of balance with her impressively trained vermin. The rats jump through flaming hoops, complete obstacle courses, and join Melissa on her slack rope for a death-defying finale. FanFan favorites also return to the festival. While cracking bullwhips, juggling bowling balls or eating fire “Broon” keeps the laughs alive with a dry wit and an extemporaneous style that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats. Craic is a four piece earth moving, themed drama using heavy percussions and medieval bagpipes to create a boisterous musical performance. Splatter Time Players are a group of young men who have dedicated their lives to two things: Mud & Entertainment. Flight of the Raptor features the beauty of flight and is designed to educate, enlighten, and sometimes even amaze audiences with a large cast of predator birds including falcons and hawks.

AROUND TOWN

Pompano Today.com24 Pompano Today February 2015

THE FUTUREIS NO LONGER FANTASY

For years, we've been just a tad concerned that the news of Pompano's renaissance might be, to coin a phrase, "greatly exaggerated". Now, though - now, it's palpable. Now, it's no longer fantasy. It is, however, fun. It's fun to see craft breweries make preparations to open their doors; fun to get stuck in a construction zone; fun to read news organizations' musing aloud about what to call this new, hip, burgeoning scene. These images? Oh, these images! Imagine it if you can - our leaders sure have. Commerce parks. Live/work. Green space. Everything we've been waiting for. It's almost too exciting to stand, but we'll manage.Want to know more? Start showing up at city meetings; perusing the city's website; getting involved. It's all there, assuming you can stand the excitement. Who's in?

About the Author:

WELCOME TO MY FANTASY

I visited the Haunted House in Disney World. I’m not sure if that was the point when I became obsessed with all things slightly creepy and mysterious, or if that happened years later. In any case, had I realized I could have made a living at creating headstones for mock cemeteries, or developing animated waltzing ghost dancers…that may have been my chosen career path. Alas, like many creative souls, I sided with reason and decided that I may need to eat on a regular basis. I sold out, if you will, to corporate America. There’s something to be said for food, after all. However, for years, I have always been intrigued with the notion of creating artistic environments. Except rather than a permanent destination, I have managed to occasionally cause myself and loved ones great amounts of stress and panic by making my events a one-night affair. Last year at this time, my friends at the Sample-McDougald House took a leap of faith and entrusted me to create one of those environments for my first Victorian gothic masquerade ball, Curio Nocturno. I’m proud to say that we will be holding our second annual event this year on Saturday, February 21st. When asked to describe what Curio Nocturno is, my first response is to say it’s

I remember the first time

an affordable black tie event, with a bit of a twist. Since this month’s theme is focused on fantasy, I figure it’s an appropriate time to invite you to mine!

Since life hasn’t afforded me the ability to attend endless soirees such as those depicted in The Great Gatsby, I wanted

to find a way to create my own fantasy event. With a great amount of help from the local community, last year we were able to create the beginning of what I had always pictured in my mind. There were women in full length gowns and glittery masks wandering the grounds of the Sample-McDougald house that evening. There was a live music trio, tarot card readers, and waltzing couples twirling on the lawn. This year, we attempt to bring that event up a notch, since there always has to be a challenge to out-do the first one. If you have ever wanted to be a part of a “happening”, it is our hope that this becomes a signature event for the community…and one that we can look forward to creating for years to come. I can think of no more perfect setting for this event than on the Sample-McDougald House grounds.

Everyone is invited to attend; our only requirement is that you must wear a mask. Tuxedos and gowns are highly encouraged, but remember, there are always unexpected surprises at Curio Nocturno. I do enjoy a bit of elegance tied in with a creepy twist, so please don’t be shocked if you spy a pair of vampire-esque fangs when I smile. Did I mention there was a little Ann Rice inspiration for this night?

Everyone is invited

Welcome to my fantasy... When: Saturday, February 21st, 7 – 11pmWhere: Sample-McDougald House, 450 NE 10th Street, Pompano Beach, FL 33060Attire: Black tie suggested, mask requiredCost: $65.00 per person; includes two drinks, hors d’oeuvres and entertainmentTickets must be purchased in advance through Artistic Productions at curionocturno.com.

Jan Winkelman won her very own Sand Cloud!

(we're not counting the ampersand, as it doesn't meet the definition of "word").

In exactly six words, Jan told us whyFlorida is the best place to be.

Not that we have anything against California, which is, after all,

the home of the Sand Cloud, the amazing towel

that combines the comfort of a high quality beach towel

with a comfy pillow.

Many long-time Pompano Beach residents remember Storyland, an amusement park located at 1101 South Federal Highway, just south of the Cypress Creek canal. The park was opened in 1955 by Sidney Caswell and Al Hennessy. It portrayed various children's stories and rhymes. Storyland was closed and demolished in 1964. Over the years there have been other attractions in Pompano Beach, including Roger Brown's Miniature Horse Farm located just south of the Hammondville Road entrance to the Turnpike and Jones Brothers Reptile Farm located northwest of Pompano. There are also references in the 1950s to an attraction named Creature Land, supposedly located north of town on Federal Highway.

Why Florida's the best place to be, by Jan Winkelman:"sunshine, spectacular sunrise & sunsets, aqua waters"

WORDS OF WISDOM || YOUR BUSINESS

Pompano Today February 2015 27

By Teana McDonald

THE THREE "F's" IN BUSINESS:

FUN!FANTASY!FAILURE...

There are tons of F’s in business that so many of us deal with on a daily basis. There’s failure, finance, fun, fantasy, fearless, feedback, and I think you know that this list can go on and on. And let’s not forget to address the pink elephant

in the room. Yes, there is also that infamous “F” word that we all utter every now and then to express our emotions (or when your team misses that winning touchdown). We’re going to focus on our favorite 3 F words and how they can impact many aspects of your business.

FailureI know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking how could I have experienced failure and we’re only 2 months into 2015? It’s easy: did you make those nasty resolutions or set those Mt. Everest size goals that you haven’t even checked off your list yet? I’m here to tell you that I am 100% guilty of doing that from 2006-2014. I decided that for 2015 I was going to have a blank slate, and conquer tasks, clients, employees and projects as they come. What do we gain each year by setting ourselves up for failure? Instead plan not to fail but committing to attainable action items that generate income. Yes, that almighty dollar! Stop creating these resolutions that you throw out of the window 30 days into the New Year. I guarantee that a majority of those resolutions are not generating revenue. Think about it.

FunOh yes, I said it. God forbid you have fun while running your business. Stop thinking that there’s no time for that. If you have employees that you work with try a monthly lunch, team-builder or outing (yes, you have to pay). If you are a solopreneur, then gather all of the other folks like you and schedule a mixer or dinner. I guarantee that you will have fun, you will walk away refreshed and you will have strengthened your professional relationships.

FantasyGet your mind out of the gutter and stop thinking about Fabio on the cover of a Danielle Steele novel (wow I really dated myself). When I say fantasy I’m talking about your fantasy vision for your business.

When you close your eyes are you in a corner office in a building that you own? Or are you on the beach with a cool beverage and a laptop doing work? What does your “fantasy business” look like? Picture it and capture it on a vision board, bulletin board, desktop screen saver or wherever. The fantasy has to be visible each day you’re at work so that you stay clear on what your vision is. We all need daily reminders!

When did you know without any doubt that you wanted to produce and host and sing?Well, as a young boy I grew up singing in church choirs as a tenor in both my home churches and private schools. There I began performing at various events and recitals around NYC, and that’s where I got my first onstage experience. My parents’ wish was that I become a lawyer, and after high school I studied business law and paralegal studies for two years. I discovered my love for acting, writing and directing in small high school productions and while later attending Interboro Institute's Acting & Theater program with my acting coach, Dr. Doberry. It was there that my love for the stage grew even stronger, while performing a short two performance/week run for my student body.

My producing interests developed after attending a 12 week film program at The New York Film Academy where I harnessed and learned the true overall process of filmmaking, and discovered that I enjoyed every aspect of all the fundamental pieces. From that experience I produced two shorts and one feature length documentary entitled: "New Orleans, We Won't Forget About You", where I got a chance to incorporate both my singing and musical talents, producing the entire music score and soundtrack for the documentary.

After film school I ventured more into my music career, successfully completing my 1st Debut Album entitled: "Freaky Mon". In this album I had an opportunity to showcase my acting talents with a comedy interlude entitled: "Mr. and Mrs. Chow" where I impersonated two characters…

My knack for entertainment hosting came after my two successful Kickstarter campaigns which got my comedy show pilot project entitled: "The Rhyme Impersonator Show" off the ground. During the campaign process, I started a blog talk radio show called “The Rhyme Impersonator Radio Show”, where I got to interview various entertainment guests from all walks of life.

What inspires you to act, produce, direct?I would say it’s the passion of wanting to tell new stories, to explore new ideas and concepts with a new swag, and the teaming up with others talented in their own respect to make my creative vision a distinct reality. In regards to my new comedy show, my goal is to make sketch comedy better and take it to another level, and in the process I can act and also direct beginning or even seasoned actors and actresses and take them to that same level as well.
