What is Product design?

• is the process of creating a new product to be sold

by a business to its customers. A very broad concept,

it is essentially the efficient and effective generation

and development of ideas through a process that

leads to new products

ROBUST

• Robust product design is a concept from the

teachings of Dr. Genichi Taguchi, a Japanese

quality guru. It is defined as reducing variation in a

product without eliminating the causes of the

variation. In other words, making the product or

process insensitive to variation.

CAD / Computer-Aided Design

• is the use of computer programs to create two- or three-dimensional (2D or 3D) graphical representations of physical objects. CAD software may be specialized for specific applications. CAD is widely used for computer animation and special effects in movies, advertising, and other applications where the graphic design itself is the finished product.
