The Argentine Triple Crown, the world's most important polo series began with
the Tortugas Open. Six team’s of upto 34 to 40 goals participated in the first
jewel of the Triple Crown which includes the Hurlingham Open and the Argen-
tine Open. The 75th Tortugas Open was a repeat of last year’s final with La
Dolfina taking on Ellerstina yet again and the result was the same as La Dolfina
reinforced their dominance over their opponents to lift trophy by 11 goals to 9.
The match began with Ellerstina taking a 2-1 lead after the first seven minutes
of play after which they matched La Dolfina goal for goal in the second chukkar
to maintain a 4-3 advantage. The match turned in the third chukkar with La
Dolfina scoring three goals to take a 6-4 lead. After half-time, Facundo Pieres
had several chances to take the lead again for his team but he missed six penalties hence the 40 goal La Dolfina
quartet ended up victorious for the third consecutive year.
Adolfo Cambiaso who scored ten goals earned M.V.P. honours for his performance and ‘Chocolate’, his bay geld-
ing was named the Best Polo Pony. Now La Dolfina has eight more games to win the Triple Crown, four at the
Hurlingham Open and four at the Argentine Open.

The number of ultra-high net worth individuals globally continues to increase and they are more likely than ever to be self-made individuals rather than inheritors of family for-
tunes; probably younger and grown up with technology. In developing concepts for luxury apartments, villas and penthouses in India or for Indians abroad, we have dubbed
these new purchasers of luxury “metropolitan connoisseurs”. They are as familiar with the haute couture of Milan, the literary scene in New York and the art shows in
London as they are with the aesthetic and cultural traditions of the cities they live in.
One of the most interesting things about working with Indian clients is that many of the families are multi-
generational. They buy adjacent apartments to each other and get them linked in a way to allow family time together, but at the
same time allow privacy to the older and younger generations. One of the clients in India had bought a painting by a famous contemporary
artist they had long admired and we had to design an entire room around it. Another Indian client who has bought a historic building in Lon-
don wants to restore the grandeur and charm of the building, but at the same time bring in some Indian touch by adding colour to
it. Wet kitchens and puja rooms are other unique features of Indian homes!
It is often said that in our busy, crowded world, luxury is space and time. It is also about engaging the heart as well as the eye with thoughtful
design that creates layers of experiences.

Oft thought as an October food--best for wintery soups, pies and of course carving during Halloween--Pumpkin is a food that has recently broken out of its mould.
Just as global coffee juggernaut Starbucks' introduced the pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin seems to have piqued the interest of chefs and cuisines around the world.
Pumpkin's versatility in being able to be incorporated into both sweet and savoury dishes has led to chefs experimenting with the food in
many fun, rustic ways. For instance, Justin Brunetti's Pizzetteria Brunetti in New York has introduced a delicious village-style Pumpkin
Pizza. Here Brunetti tops his 48 hour fermented pizza dough with a thick spread of pumpkin and walnut puree, topped with salty
burrata and sweet gorgonzola dolce, with torn pancetta bits tossed on top with a healthy sprinkle of sea salt and olive oil. Justin Chapple,
famous Food and Wine contributor, does a fun yet elegant pasta with creamy pumpkin sauce, where the flavour of the earthy pumpkin is
rounded by crushed hazelnuts, cut with the piquant of chives and folded with the creamy richness of mascarpone for a really well balanced dish, textured
and complex dish. And for something quite special yet easy, uber celebrity chef Marco Pierre White does a pumpkin soup from Japanese pumpkins,
which bleed an aromatic melon-like water, carrot for a touch of sweetness, cream for smoothness and parmesan for its salty goodness, topped with fresh
black pepper.
So this season, pick the pumpkin on a menu--be it a soup, main course or dessert. Not only is the food packed with fibre, Vitamin A and C, it
also forms an incredible base that can be layered with a variety of flavours--from spicy, to sweet, to salty to citric. And, no matter what pumpkin dish you pick, pair with the cock-
tail classic Bobby Burns whose warm notes from scotch, vermouth and Benedictine will compliment the flavours of pumpkin, nuts, sweet and salt perfectly. So eat, sip and enjoy... and, don't
say no to that pumpkin pie!

The Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series is a racing circuit featuring the best sailors in the world, competing on foiling,
wing-sailed 45ft catamarans. The crowds witnessed fierce rivalry between the six boats who raced on Super Sunday in Ber-
muda. A total of three races were held and they were all won by different teams with Oracle Team USA winning the first race.
In the second race Artemis Racing from Sweden crashed into an umpire boat just before the race began. However, they
scrambled to fix their boat and made an impressive showing by winning the second race, and Emirates Team NZ claimed vic-
tory in the third race.
Following all three races, it was Artemis Racing who claimed overall victory as they had 52 points. Following close behind
was, Emirates Team with 50 points and Oracle Team came in third with 48 points.
THE FRENCH WAY WITH DESIGN
By Betty Lou Phillips
A new look is emerging in France’s apart-
ments as well as in its imposing chateaux &
country manors. Along with signature pieces
of national identity such as finely crafted
wood pieces, splendid mirrors, and
grandmère’s well cared for linens - European
mid-century modern furnishings also adorn
settings in this age of merging sensibilities.
Available in Italian, English, Chinese and Japanese, the new book PANERAI tells the story of the past and present of the Florentine high
quality sports watchmaking brand Officine Panerai, which in just a few years has transformed what was a niche product for collectors
into a global brand which is among the most sought after by enthusiasts throughout the world.
Published by the Italian publishing house Marsilio and created with the editorial coordination of the Cologni Foundation for the Métiers d’Art, the
book respects the identity of the brand with its elegant, simple yet sophisticated graphic design, its exquisite attention to detail, and the richness
and originality of its content. It consists of five essays covering five different aspects of the identity of Officine Panerai, each one written by a different author.
For more than ten years Officine Panerai has renewed its historic link with the world of the sea, which originated when it supplied instruments to the Italian Navy,
not only creating specialized timepieces but also promoting the culture of classic yachts, those unique examples of beauty, history, craftsmanship and exclusivity.
The essays by the five authors are accompanied by photographs of extraordinary beauty and
evocativeness, covering various times and places as they retrace the steps which brought the
Panerai legend into being. The period watches and contemporary ones are the main stars,
but the fields covered of the volume range from masterpieces of Renaissance timekeeping to the icons of interna-
tional design of the 1930s, from images of Florence in the late 19th century to those of classic sailing yachts
which take part each year in the races of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge. The visual content is further en-
hanced by the original contributions of Victor Togliani, one of the best known Italian illustrators, who has made some 20
evocative line drawings for the volume, examples of a poetic and visionary realism.

7 OCTOBER 2015, NEW DELHI, INDIA
Taking swim and resort wear to a new level, designer duo Shivan and
Narresh showcased an array of saucy and bold designs at the Amazon India
Fashion Week this month in Delhi.
The show was crafted in association with a luxury bath brand Kohler along
with the popular names of Indian fashion industry. Dubbed as modern, mini-
malist and sophisticated, the collection - a combination of calming colour pal-
ette and slender silhouettes - caught the imagination of the audience. The
brand was first launched in Cannes 'Mare Di Moda’ with 100% stitch free
swim line.
FINE WINE
For the longest time, wine was considered a European entity. Even when settlers went and established colonies, they tried to emulate the
wines of their respective motherlands. But the ‘mother’ ostracised her distant children, refusing to recognise their quality or potential.
Many decades and some very special blind tastings later, the wines of the New World had arrived. One such tasting established the
supremacy of Chilean Cabernets. Since then Chile has done wonders with big-bodied robust red wines and one such wine is the Caballo
Loco.
This ‘Mad Horse’ is a tribute to the winemaker and is a unique multi-vintage blend of Cabernet, Carmenere, Malbec, and Merlot all aged in the
Sherry-style Solera system to yield forth a rich luscious complex red wine. There’s no single year marked on the bottle, just the number of the last-
released blend. At the moment No. 9 is in circulation. Small quantities are made and a tiny drop of that makes it to India, so, move fast; this is undoubtedly
one of the best wines from one of the best wine-producing countries in the world!
