Shooting Sport Meeting—We will have a general meeting on Au-

gust 18th here at the Extension Meeting Room from 5:30—6:30 to

set up place and times to start the Shooting Sports in September.

SHOOTING SPORTS PROJECT

The Texas 4-H Foundation has an exciting opportunity

for you to go and see the Astro’s on September 3, 2011.

4-H clubs have the opportunity to buy ―Green Out‖ Tickets.

If you are interested please call the Extension Office at 936-

327-6828

Texas 4-H Baseball ―Green Out‖

2011-2012 Show year is underway and a

new change has been made. All exhibitors

that show in the Major Shows are required

to complete the Quality Counts program.

All FFA and 4-H members can log onto http://qualitycounts.tamu.edu/verification/ click

on ―Take Test‖ and complete the program. Ag teachers and County Agents will need your

verification number when submitting your entries for Major shows. Quality Counts is de-

signed to teach young people the importance of displaying good character in carrying out

livestock projects, and in every aspect of their lives. ―Quality Counts‖ helps them learn

the importance of using proper livestock management practices so that food quality and

safety are preserved. I encourage you all to take the test.

Meat Pens are open for purchase from breeders.

POLK COUNTY 4-H CLUB INFORMATION

2010-2011 4-H Year

The enrollment forms for the 2010-2011 4-H year are in the office and all

members MUST re-enroll for the new year. If you are in the area of the

office, please stop in and complete your enrollment form for this year. We

need ALL leaders for 2010-2011 to come by and fill out an application so if

you have not done so please come by the County Extension Office. We look

forward to a new, fun, productive year. If you have any friends or family

who wish to join, please encourage them to come by and obtain an enrollment

form. Any questions, please contact the County Extension Office at 936-

327-6828.

Attendance Reminder: 4-H members should keep in mind that you MUST attend at least three 4-H Com-

munity Club Meetings at the community club where you signed up at. Also 4-H

members must attend at least one project group meeting for each project you

signed up to show or compete in a 4-H county, district, or state event If you have

any questions regarding the attendance requirements, please contact the

4-H Office.
