POLITICAL POWERS OF EARLY MODERN EUROPEIN 15TH-16TH CENTURY CONT.
•At the pinnacle of the Ottoman Empire, which was
in the 16th and 17th centuries, they ranged three
continents (Southwestern Europe, Western Asia,
and North Africa).
• Habsburg Spain relates to 16th to 17th century
Spain, in which at the height of their rule had
territory in The East Indies, Americas, parts of
modern day France and Germany as well as
Portugal.
•The Kingdom of Portugal survived from 1139 to
1910. At one time they had possession of colonies
all over the world including the largest being Brazil.
•Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth was a dualist
monarchy from 1569 to 1795. In the 16th- 17th
centuries they had a population around 11 million.
