Sahih Muslim, Book 4, Number 1203:Ibn 'Umar reported that when the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) sat for tashah-hud he placed his left hand on his left knee. and his right hand on his right knee. and he raisedhis right finger, which is next to the thumb, making supplication in this way, and he stretched

his left hand on his left knee. Another version on the authority of Ibn Umar says: When theMessenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) sat for tashah-hud, he placed his left hand onhis left knee and placed his right hand on his right knee, and he formed a ring like (fifty-three)and pointed with his finger of attestation. [Also from Sahih Muslim 1201 to 1205]

Sunan Abu Dawud, Volume 1, Hadith No. 987: .. When he ( ) sat down during the prayer, he would place his right palm

on his right thigh, and curl his fingers up (into a fist), and motion with the finger that is next

to his thumb (the forefinger). And he would place his left palm on his left thigh

His gaze would not go beyond his pointing (with his finger) [Abu Dawud, Volume 1,

Hadith No. 990]

Sunan An-Nasai, Volume 2, Hadith No. 1160:It was narrated that Wail bin Hujr said: . Raised his ( ) finger for the

supplication..

. And point with the finger that is next to the thumb toward the Qiblah, and he would look

at it, or thereabouts [An-Nasai, Volume 2, Hadith No. 1161],

. point with his finger [An-Nasai, No. 1162]

Jami At-Tirmidhi, Volume 1, Hadith No. 294Ibn Umar narrated: When the Prophet ( ) would sit during the Salat, he would

place his right hand on his knee and raise his finger the one that is next to the (right) thumb,

supplicating with it, and his left hand was spread on his left knee.

Sunan Ibn Majah, Volume 2, Hadith no. 912It was narrated that Wail bin Hujr said: I saw the Prophet ( ) making a circle

with his thumb and middle finger, and raising the one next to the it (the index finger),

supplicating with it during the Tashah-hud

It was narrated from Ibn Umar that the prophet ( ) raising his right

finger which was next to his thumb, supplicating with it [Sunan Ibn Majah, Volume 2,

Hadith no. 913]
