Ms. Glo Retires after 27 years

On May 19, 2010 family, friends, and faculty gathered to celebrate Ms. Gloria Cifreo’s retirement from Catholic of Pointe Coupee. For 27 years Ms. Glo arrived at school by 6:30 am. In addition to being the school’s official “tooth puller”, Ms. Glo was a paraprofessional for kindergar-ten, first and second grade,

He credits his teachers, especially the Sisters of St. Joseph, with providing the foundation of his education. Mr. Daryl stated “These dedi-cated women were excellent teachers of the three R’s, but more importantly, they rein-forced what I learned from my parents who developed the spiritual aspect of my life. My religious education taught me to share the material gifts I have received from God.” Mr. Daryl chaired the Capital Campaign to fund the school’s Endowment Trust. He is known for doing things behind the scenes, never wanting acknowledgment. Known as “the rock” of the family, his wife Janie says “when anyone needs something, Daryl is there for them.”

Daryl Patin (‘55) is Catholic of Pointe Cou-pee’s distinguished graduate for 2010. Mr. Daryl is semi-retired as chief engineer at Patin Engineers and Surveyors in Port Allen.

Home and School had a busy year with two raffles and the annual Ladies’ Auc-tion. The fall raffle raised $10,277. The Green Hornet Club stays busy with all Catholic’s home sporting events selling conces-sions, spirit items and manning the gate.
