Poetry In Action is a theatre company

dedicated to bringing poetry to life through perform

ance.

Our passionate writers, actors, directors and poets create and tour poetry based theatre perform

ances to over 55,000 young people nationwide.

PIA engages a team of three actors, often recent

graduates from Australia’s top dram

a institutions. The team

keep four shows in repertory and tour the country perform

ing to largely school based audiences in venues as diverse as school halls, lecture auditorium

s, state of the art theatres or basketball courts.

aking sure that the youth of Australia all have equal access to our perform

ances and are not disadvantaged by social, econom

ic or geographical circum
