Infomercials.

Look around you! Let me tell you,

This isn’t what you like.

You want it better! Bigger! Faster! Newer!

And that’s why you’re here tonight.

We offer satisfaction!

Amazing deals; this one’s gripping.

Two low payments of 8.99!

But guess who pays for shipping.

A whole new world

a phone call away.

But you won’t get up,

You sit there as we say;

Look around you! Let me tell you!

Your life could be improved!

Get muscles in-an-instant,

With our magic protein food.

It may never of occurred to you

There’s protein in an egg!

But will an egg make you ripped in a week?

Or cost an arm and a leg?

If this is what you’re looking for,

Stick around, take a chair!

Listen to these words we tell you!

The fact is that WE CARE.

If you don’t believe us,

It really IS okay.

Just stay around a small bit longer,

And listen to us say;

Look around you! Let me tell you!

You need a major change!

Just listen to us all night long!

You’re bound to be amazed.

Pantoum

The moon.

The moon just glimmers

Upon the ground

The water shimmers

Without a sound

Upon the ground

Autumn leaves fall

Without a sound

Everything is calm

Autumn leaves fall

The wind whispers coldly

Everything is calm

And I feel free

The wind whispers coldly

The water shimmers

Everything is calm

The moon just glimmers.

Limericks

Killer bill.

There once was a killer named Bill.

At night was when he liked to kill.

But the question remains,

Why at night must he slay?

His reply was that day lost its thrill.

A dead heap.

There once was a mortician named Heap.

Who was driving at night without sleep.

Then out came a deer,

That hit him I fear.

And now he lies six feet deep.

Haikus

Night shadows.

Moon beams play darkly

Shadows flicker on the ground

Endless eerie soul

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Snowfall.

White falling on black

Winter whispers to the moon

Cold blankets the ground

Ode

Ode to night.

O black night you cloak me in darkness

Your well defined shadows

Allow me to move through you with the utmost stealth.

Upon your arrival, my victims fall a slumber

And when I arrive,

Their sleep is everlasting.

When you fall, the weak turn weary

I am not weak.

With you as my ally I thrive.

Bloodstained sheets of my victims are many,

The faces none of which I remember.

You conceal their identities in velvet.

We work as a team, you and I.

Using your blackness to silently kill,

As I give you the souls that will roam here forever.

Sonnet

His True Love

My bride you are so lovely here tonight.

Your rotten bones shimmering in the night.

Skin once so vibrant, crumbled into dust.

The ring on your finger, covered in rust.

You once were alive and now you are dead.

Still you remain here lying on my bed.

When I see your face, I still feel our love.

They all seem to think you watch from above.

But I know the truth. You’re still in my soul.

Loving me, filling that big empty hole.

They look upon me, and think I’m insane.

But I will not let your death be in vain.

When you open your eyes, they will all see.

That after all these years, I’m NOT crazy.

Nightmare

I wonder why is it so dark?

I’m feeling trapped in my own head.

No morning singing of the lark.

There is something in my bed.

If I could open up my eyes.

I would move but I feel bound.

I could see all this is lies.

I scream but hear no sound.

My vision’s growing dimmer.

What is this horror that I feel?

My fate is getting grimmer.

I know none of this is real.

I feel something growing near.

I hear footsteps in the distance.

I sense that it can smell my fear.

I can offer no resistance.

Night barbeque

Do you smell that aroma?

That’s some finely cooked meat.

Time to flip it over,

Don’t want that to burn.

You really are a lucky guy,

Not many people get to do this.

Are you comfortable sitting there?

Are you starting to get hungry?

Don’t move so much those ropes will chafe,

You’ll burn your little wrist.

You don’t want to ruin that meat.

Careful now, your blood is dripping.

Well look at that! The meat is done!

I know that you’ve been waiting.

And if you’re still hungry when your hand is gone,

We can always grill the other one.
