Get Your Senior Sounds via E-mail!
Receive your Senior Sounds in a timely manner AND
help us save cost by signing up for our NEW email sub-
scription option. Call us or stop by the front desk to let
us know you are interested in making the switch! Sign-
ing up means you will no longer receive a hard copy of
the Sounds in the mail BUT you can always print it out
at home! Thank you for helping us be more green!
Well here we are already in the month of March. I hope the
March winds are not blowing too much.
I’m writing this in January for the March edition of the Senior
Sounds, when my husband Andy and I were working the Crab
Feed. I was very impressed by Susan Yoshizaki and her group
of workers, and the servers for the Crab Feed. They do a great
job and are like a well oiled machine. Thank you very much!
We have St. Patrick’s Day Lunch on Friday, March 17th. The
first day of spring is March 20th. Don’t forget Healthy Tips for
Hurting Hands on March 8th to 29th. Our Crime Prevention
series starts on March 15th and will continue once a month,
check the Senior Sounds for dates and times.
If you are looking to make a donation this year, we are starting
our Senior Scholarship Program. This program is run solely on
donations. This is a great program that will help those that
need a little extra help. If you need a little extra help to take
advantage of this program, contact a staff member.
I hope everyone has a great month, but I have to mention the
parking lot one more time. Please if you drive a truck, van or a
large SUV, and are not handicapped, please do not park in com-
pact parking, people cannot see to park or back out as your ve-
hicle is blocking their vision.
I will see you all in April. Have a great March and if you have
something you need to talk to me about, please contact me.
Dagny

Dear Center Members,
Does anyone remember the movie “A Christmas Story”, about little Ralphie who just wanted a Red Rider BB gun? If you do, you will remember the scene where Ralphie’s dad gets a “major award”. Well the reward turns out to be a bit of a joke, but I am pleased to announce that is not the case with the Care Manage-ment Program (CMP). The CMP Educational Series has won the CPRS (California Parks and Recreation Society) District 3’s catego-ry for Outstanding Recreation Program/Special Event. The CMP series is held on the second Thursday of every month. The suc-cess of this program is very much a team effort and our seniors are definitely part of that team. So thank you for coming to the series and supporting the CMP program. Feel free to stop by my office and take a look at the award. Bring your sunglasses though, it’s a stunner! I am very excited about the March presen-tation. This months topic will be Veteran’s Benefits, presented by Alex Alexander, SSVF Outreach Specialist from Shelter Inc.
One more piece of good news. Remember back in December when I made a plea for donations on the optional donation por-tion of the membership form. Well as of February, the total do-nations to CMP is a little over $750! Again, a huge success that would not be possible without our members. You are the best!
Have a great month.
Fondly, Dana
