Our Plant Tissue Culture Tested basal salts and media have been formulated according to the references
cited in their respective product listings. These basal salts and media are then manufactured and packaged in en-vironmentally controlled facilities. Our biological testing ensures that each lot produces culture growth consistent with prior lots.
On the following pages are many popular basal salt and media formulas followed by Murashige and Skoog-based formulations. Vitamin listings and formulations complete this section. Please contact us with inquiries about larger package sizes or custom formulations.
Instructions for basal salt, media, and vitamin preparation
are provided in the Technical Information Section of this catalog and on our web site: www.phytotechlab.com.
Basal Salt vs Medium... our defi nition A “Basal Salt Mixture” contains macro- and micronutri-B A “Basal Salt Mixture” contains macro- and micronutri-Bents, but no vitamins, carbohydrates, or growth regulators. A “Basal Medium” contains the macro- and micronutrients, but is incomplete as it typically lacks an organic compo-nent: vitamins, carbohydrates, or growth regulators. A “Medium” typically is complete and requires no additional components (except gelling agent, if desired). A “Modifi ed” Basal Salt, Basal Medium, or Medium indicates that one or more of the components varies in concentration or form from that originally published.
