2. The above fonts are examples of existing logos. The two bands have similar music as theyre both part of the indie genre. When looking atthe fonts I realised that Indie logos often consist of heavy, easy to read fonts. The reason they do this is to make a statement and I therefore want to do this in my work. On the next two slides you will see 6 different fonts. A green tick willsymbolise if I have chosen the font, and a red cross if not.I will choose two fonts until I narrow down my design for my print work. 3. XX 4. XX 5. Here are the two fonts I liked the most. I will decide on a fontdepending on my design ideas for my final product. I would like to usethe top font for a cartoon style album or the heavier second font for amore generic cover. 6. The artist I am using for my music videouses three main colours throughouttheir album; yellow, white and grey. Thecolours they use are generic for theindie genre as they often use grays, andblacks and then highlight it with a brightcolour such as red or yellow.The Maccabees are another indie bandand also convert to similar colours. Theyuse the black as the main colour butthey then highlight it with reds andyellows. 7. X X XXX X 8. I decided that these colours would not work for my print media as the colours would look too dark. If I used these colours on my digipack thefinished product would not come across as well as the graphics would be too dark to see. 9. I decided that these colours would be the best choice. This would allow meto experiment with different techniques and graphics without the risk ofloosing the quality.When I begin to make my print product I will choose whether to use red or blue to make an impact! 10. Foster The People are a modernindie rock band formed inAmerica. Their costume is neededto represent the genre of musicthey perform to attract audiencesto their music. Although manypeople dont see the need forcostume within music it isessential to portray the music.The stereotypical Indie clothingconsists mostly of plaidshirts, graphic tees, leather/denimjackets, chino trousers, skinnyjeans and retro trainers. Many oftodays well known Indie bandsmodel themselves around thisstereotype, including Foster ThePeople. 11. Costume is an integral part of my musicvideo. Helping to portray the bands music Ineed to look at everything from clothing tohair styles.When choosing my costumes I havedecided that simple is best. Indie musiciansare often seen in check, skinny trousersand retro trainers. I therefore decided todress both the band members and thefemale actor in this style.The hair is also important and I want to usethe sweepy indie cut and the simple sleeklook for both the males and the female.I have also thought about the femalecharacters makeup. I have decided thatsimple would be best, maybe a dark eyeshadow to contrast the bright lighting, anda bit of foundation to make the quality lookbetter. 12. Props are an important part of any genre ofmusic video. From instruments to obscureobjects these are needed to enhance theoverall video.My video wont consist of to many props asthe majority of the filming will be based onone main character.For the bedroom shots a want a variety ofmessed up teenager props.These will include:Empty alcohol bottlesDirty mirrorsEmpty alcohol cansCDsMessy clothesGuitar casesWhere as the studio shots will only needinstruments:MicrophoneElectric guitarElectric bassDrums
