Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka Nuwara Eliya is an enchanting destination to visit

in the hill country, Sri Lanka. Being surrounded with waterfalls and tea plantations the city has enough attractions to easily fill a couple of days. Golfing, boat rides in the Gregory lake & horse riding are few exciting activities to try in this beautiful city.

Due to its location, Nuwara Eliya has a subtropical highland climate with an average annual temperature of 16 °C (61 °F). In the winter months there can be frost at night, but it warms up rapidly during the day because of the high sun angle.

Gregory Lake Gregory Lake is located just 1.5 km away from the

artistic city of Nuwara Eliya. Things do in this amazing place includes nature photography, walkways and boat trips. Both couples and families could equally enjoy a visit to this place as the atmosphere is quite romantic whilst activities such as boat rides, playing in the lake edge and enjoying the food stalls could keep the kids entertained.

Ramboda Falls

Located towards the west of Nuwara Eliya, Ramboda Falls is well-known as one of the highest waterfalls in Sri Lanka. The surrounding of the waterfall is quite attractive and a visit to this place is ideal for nature photography tours.

Hakgala Botanical Garden

Hakgala Botanical Garden is one of the five botanical gardens in Sri Lanka situated on the Nuwara Eliya-Badulla main road, just16 km away from Nuwara Eliya. There are over 10,000 varieties of beautiful flora planted here and a visit to this place during spring is highly recommended.

Strawberry Farms in Nuwara Eliya Exploring strawberry farms in Nuwara Eliya is an

exciting activity and freshly picked strawberries are available at many outlets and cafes. Strawberry juice and varieties of desserts are also available for moderated prices. Ambewela farm, Adam Agro and Rose Garden are few farms within close proximity to the city of Nuwara Eliya.
