LEGACYFormal education in india in the early 1950s, was a privilege that only the socially elite were entitled to. reforms to create an equal society had just begun in free india; however, plans took time to permeate to remote corners of the nation. unemployment in the rural areas was rampant. The thinker that he was, dr.n.Mahalingam realised that education would provide that vital link between illiteracy and unemployment. He also realised that the sole purpose of education was not merely to provide a means of livelihood; rather, it was to create a way of life.

KCT Business school is a reflection of the vision of dr.n. Mahalingam, a padmabhushan Awardee and Chairman of the sakthi group, Coimbatore. A staunch follower of Mahatma gandhi, he envisioned KCT Business school students to be fiercely competitive but at the same time uphold the cherished values of honesty, integrity and commitment. The Co-Chairman of the institution, dr B K Krishnaraj Vanavarayar is an educationist of repute, focuses on enhancing human and educational excellence. He is an ardent upholder of the great indian culture and values, and inspires the youth with his brilliant oratory skills. Correspondent, Mr M Balasubramaniam has a special interest in management education and he brings in vast managerial expertise into KCT.Bs.

KCT Business school derives immense strength by being a part of the sakthi group. The prestigious sakthi group, Coimbatore was founded in 1921. Today, the sakthi group is led by the spirited leadership of dr. n. Mahalingam and managed by a team of committed, dynamic members. The turnover is 4000 crore and above 10,000 people are working in the group. sakthi group with its sound financial position has diverse business interests in Automobile, Transport, information Technology, Engineering, dairy, sugar, soya, Auto Components, Finance, Textiles, synthetic gems, Agriculture and Education.
