Design/Install Debris Protection System (NYCTA) This is a fast track project aimed at protecting the streets below with netting from the potential of falling objects from the elevated MTA structures in areas of high concern. This project is an MTA initiative to provide secondary protection for the public in areas of concern. This project began in June with 125th Street Station scheduled to be completed in early Sept. The second station, 39th Ave, is underway with a scheduled completion date of middle of October. Intelligent Transportation System Replacement (PANYNJ)Project’s civil aspects are currently in a startup phase with mobilization planned for Fall of this year.

PJS Electric, Inc. Integrated Service Information Management (ISIM)- MTA Railroad Control Center We have begun field work in the computer rooms installing power to data racks. These racks are the communication link between the 472 subway stations and the staff at the Railroad Control Center. Kudos to Charlie Lovastik (PM), Frank Lanatra (Foreman) and crew for the great work in this highly sensitive area. The overall project is slated to be completed in Q3 2021. George Washington Bridge- Intelligent Transportation System Replacement (ITS)- PANYNJ We have setup a field yard and construction trailers in Fort Lee for this exciting project. We will be starting field work with Checkmate Communications & Electric, our MBE electrical subcontractor in October. John Duraes will be our Project Executive and will work alongside our Foreman Jonny Castrillon for the project. Police Radio Enhancement at 59 Stations- MTA We are moving along with field installations in Brooklyn. Completed stations are being tested and turned over to the Transit Police. There have been many changes by the MTA, most at the last minute. Harsh Mehta and crew have done an excellent job of “rolling with the punches” while keeping the job moving forward. We are scheduled to complete all conduit installation at the Jackie Gleason Bus Depot by the end of September. Devices are being installed and we are continuing ahead of schedule. We are working with Jules Alcide, the MTA’s CPM to begin conduit installation at Manhattanville Depot install in October. This is two months ahead of the originally scheduled start date. Great job by Leslie Betancourt (PM), Rudy Conter (F) and field staff. Verizon- 1095 Avenue of the Americas- Local Law 26 Project We are finishing installation of areas that were delayed by our client. Testing with the FDNY will begin shortly and we look forward to completing this project with the Fire Department's approval by the end of the year when we will add this to the growing list of successfully completed projects by PJS Electric. We would like to recognize Greg Bohn who really stepped up to support Jim Hartigan (F) and his field staff in coordinating all of the “moving parts” of various trades as this project was nearing completion. Louis Armstrong Museum Work at the Museum did resume for us in August. A very unfortunate construction accident occurred while our subcontractor was erecting the sidewalk protection bridge and field work has been temporarily halted. Our hearts and prayers go out to the family and friends of our subcontractor’s employee. Idilewild Nature Center We believe all changes by the Parks Department are now final. We intend to start the electrical service and under slab work this month. This is a smaller project we need to complete and put in our rear view mirror. New Business PJS Electric is actively bidding potential projects that fit well within our business model. We have gotten positive feedback on some exciting project that we hope to report as work on hand for the next newsletter. Onward and Upward! PJS Electric is on the move!

PJS South Zysk’s PEX Team State Highway # 6 (Texas-DOT) PJS South continues progressing with SH#6 Improvements for a 2.98 Mile Scope through the brutal southern Texas summer heat. PJS South has signed Union Agreements with Local 450 IUOE and Local 783 Masons and continues to build its workforce with union workers while allowing current employees to join the Union. By the end of October, all of the 156 Driveways will be completed. Sidewalk work, intersection electrical upgrades, drainage upgrades, and retaining wall work is underway this fall. Final project completion expected by end of 2019. Halls Bayou (Texas-DOT) This project has been canceled as the Texas DOT and Houston Parks Board evaluated the slope stability issues along our project right of way and determined it will require a complete re-design. This contract is currently involved in the cancelation process.

Time to get Involved Again! The American Cancer Society would not be successful without the help of our generous donors and volunteers. Because of you, last year we raised over $5,000, which helped fund life-saving breast cancer research studies, crucial patient care programs, and education and prevention initiatives that have helped thousands of people across the globe. That's why it's so important to participate in the 2019 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event and fundraiser - because when you do, you help save lives from breast cancer. If you participated last year, please update your ACS online profile for this year’s event. If you'd like to begin fundraising, please let me know. Also, let's grow our team by forwarding this invite to our friends, family, and co-workers.  This year's kick-off meeting is in the works! I'll let you know when we've finalized the date! The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is a one-day event but the work that goes into making it a success begins much earlier. Fundraising is a big part of that. Here are a few pointers to make your fundraising as effective as possible: ·        The number one reason people donate is just because someone asked them. So ask. ·        Reach out to friends, family, and coworkers via emails through your dashboard. ·        Download the free American Cancer Society FUNdraising app. It makes it easy to fundraise and share your story on Facebook.

Thanks for being part of our team. Your Team Captain Nathalie [email protected]

Fatherhood When I first saw my baby girl, my heart raced with joy that day. Since then it has been amazing to watch her smile and play. My sleep has been completely taken away by my little one, but when I look into her beautiful eyes I become a happier man. In no time at all I have become a diaper changing superstar. The hilarious sloppy days were some of our best memories by far. I know for sure, my curious little angel sent from above will grow up to be an amazing woman with all my love. Unintentionally, my bundle of joy always squeezes my pinky finger. There is always something to buy but never have I been happier. Having this cutie in my life has been the greatest blessing. I'm the proudest father with a gift that keeps on giving.
