In 1998, brothers Eli and Wasfi Samaan agreed to re-open a failed bowling center at the request of a bank in Jessamine County, Kentucky. At the time, neither of them even knew how to keep a bowling score. They immediately hired a prior manager out of retirement. Eventually, the Samaans completely renovated the center and added enough square footage to open a full-service restaurant.

Having a variety of businesses in the small town of Nicholasville, Wasfi and Eli realized that a casual dining restaurant, sports bar and family entertainment center were missing in this small town. They have cre-ated a fun, clean and vibrant facility that everyone can use. The name was originally Legends -- the J.D. which stands for Jordanian descent added later to reflect the owners’ proud heritage. The finished product has been a big success with Jessmine County residents.

In 2003, the same approach was applied in the very similar area of Franklin, Ohio. J.D. Legends and Strike Zone Lanes have received na-tional and international recognition in the bowling industry. Welcome to where food and fun come together.
