21stPresentation Night at Radio LancashireTonights Meeting is not in Feniscowles but is instead at RadioLancashire in Darwen Street, Blackburn.There is limited on street parking in Darwen Street so please arriveearly to find somewhere safe to leave your car.Radio Lancashire will judge the competition they sponsor and wewill present Cups and Prizes to those who have had success in thisyears exhibition.22ndExhibition Mounting

MayTuesday 22nd MayRadio Lancashire Darwen StreetBlackburnHelp is needed:­ to put pictures in frames­ to add labels to the pictures­ to mount on the wallWe plan a 10.00 am start and hope to complete by lunch time. We will bemounting the pictures onto the hanging wires using small electricalconnectors ­ a small screwdriver is needed for this. It would be useful if youcan bring a screwdriver.Please speak to the President Jim Cunningham

Trips & Outings

Night PhotographyPossible outing to the Ellesmere Port area to try dusk/night photography.There are a number of industrial sites that make graphic subjects.Please let me know if you would be interested.Planned for a midweek evening.If you fancy this one see me on Monday Night and we will chat aboutdates and times.

Now there are those who say we couldn'torganise a P*** Up in a BreweryBut we might if 15 people are keen to give it a go. If you are interestedspeak to Paul Wright. Date and time to be arranged, Spouses/Partnerswelcome

Place Moorhouse's Brewery BurnleyBrewery tours are arranged for parties of 15­30 guests and areconducted on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings,commencing at 7.30pm.The brewery tour starts in the General Scarlett with a short film and apint of award winning ale followed by a tour of the brewery and thenback to the General Scarlett for a second pint, a traditional pie and peassupper, and on departure, a presentation pack containing 2 bottles ofour prize winning beers, all for the cost of £15.50 per head.

Steward EllettNow has a permanent exhibition room at Salmesbury Hall,Salmesbury showing a variety of his work from Wildlife, Landscape,Cityscape and Abstract Photography.It is open 11am ­4pm everyday except Saturdays.

AV Night 18th JuneThis will be a practical excercise and we will be preparingan AV using your photographs.We will need a lot of images so don't be shy.The theme is the Lancashire Dialect PoemsThese have been place on the Club Website for you toread/download.The theme of the Poems is nature, Spring flowers and thelike. There are lots of opportunities to get out and takesuitable images over the next couple of weeks.Please shoot landscape format if possible and put thepictures (lots of them) on a CD/DVD and bring them to theclub and give them to Lee.The deadline for images has now passed so if you havesomething and would like to contribute please bring yourdisc to this weeks meeting and give it to Lee

We hope that by producing Pixel Xtra we introduce you not only to theactivities provided by the club but also to other opportunities to get outand about to take photographs or to see exhibitions or listen tointeresting speakers.However we can only do this if we know what is going on outside theclub.We need input from you to keepPixel Xtra and the calendar up­todate.If you learn of anything which might be of interest to other memberswhether it be somewhere to go or something to see please let usknow. For general events and photo opportunities please email thedetails to our events coordinator Steward [email protected] other stuff please e­mail it to [email protected] imagesI am sure that there is someone out there who would like to have theirimage on the cover and if you would send me an image you haveevery chance of it being used next week.The image should be about 1500 pixels wide. Pixel Xtra is landscapeformat and therefore landscape images are preferred you will alsonote that type is placed to the bottom right­hand corner so pleasetake that into account when choosing the photograph.
