TRANSCRIPT
ROSEN’s integrated approach - providing inspection, integrity and engineering - is capable of fulfilling
the requirements of MAOP (maximum allowable operating pressure) validations comprehensively and
holistically. It consists of three complementary activities that cover all aspects of MAOP calculation and
validation: review and alignment of data, utilizing existing ILI data and the determination of pipeline
properties with the new ground-breaking inspection service RoMat.
THE INTEGRATED APPROACH FOR MAOP VALIDATION WE CLOSE THE GAP OF MISSING PIPE PROPERTIES
All gathered information is prepared for easy integration into a geographical information system (GIS) and to be further processed in an integrity management system (IMS).A comprehensive alignment of records is provided. The pipe line and pipe property information can then be further processed in an asset integrity management system (AIMS) such as ROAIMS.
ROAIMS (ROSEN Asset Integrity Management Software)The ROAIMS suite of software tools delivers the widest range of analytical capabilities in the pipeline industry. By using pipe property data from existing pipeline information and existing ILI data the Integrated Approach combines the innovative new RoMat diagnostic service with customized algorithms in ROAIMS to create an ultimate tool for integrity related challenges.
REVIEW AND ALIGNMENT OF EXISTING PIPELINE INFORMATION Clients receive a comprehensive review and alignment of records (e.g. as-built drawing, pipe books, mill certificates, hydro test pressure records, etc.). Pipe information is digitized and incorporated into a structured format for a pre-existing or new GIS/IMS database. UTILIZING EXISTING ILI DATA ROSEN can perform extended data analysis routines and processes on conventional ILI technologies. This gives our client new and in-depth information related to the pipeline properties and categorized into classes. The new view on existing ILI data provides a pipeline DNA.
ROMAT USES NOVEL ILI TECHNOLOGY FOR PIPE GRADE DETERMINATION ROSEN’s innovative material characterization service RoMat assists the operator in and provides an assessment of the yield strength of each pipeline joint. This measurement is closing the gap of existing pipe properties methods. The high-resolution approach provides unique information along the entire pipeline irrespectively of the accessibility from above ground.
THREE COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES DATA INTEGRATION
All activities are aligned with PHMSA’s integrity verification process (IVP) for pipeline safety, and can be combined and adjusted to our clients' project specific needs. We facilitate that your pipeline records are:
KEY BENEFITS
MAOP is a fundamental parameter for further integrity assessment exercises, including defect assessments and quantitative risk exercises. Formal requirements in confirming MAOP for high-risk locations, such as high consequence areas (HCA) and moderate consequence areas (MCA), will define future processes to confirm or re-confirm MAOP. The novel Integrated Approach offers MAOP validation at it's highest confidence.

THE FIRST CHOICECostly field verifications using hardness measurements are the conventional way of collecting statistical values for yield strength to confirm MAOP. ROSEN’s RoMat ILI service now provides clients with the world’s first inline inspection service capable of continuously identifying and differentiating Pipe Steel Grade while significantly reducing risk and effort. This makes ROSEN’s RoMat the first choice for pipe grade determination. The data results of the novel RoMat service comply very precisely with the required field verification in accordance with API 1163.

PRECISE RESULTS, ACCURATE DATAOur Integrity Solution portfolio offers specialized data management, integrity assessment and engineering services for MAOP validation as part of ROSEN’s Integrated Approach.
The Integrated Approach extends ‘classic’ Integrity Management Programs (IMP) where primarily threats from flaws, external forces and similar are addressed. To perform meaningful calculations as part of Risk Assessment programs or Fitness-for-Service Assessments, operators require accurate information down to the single pipe joint. With ROSEN's latest achievements in data integration and non-destructive testing (NDT), the pipe property and MAOP validation can be utilized to get precise results based on accurate data.
Our services for pipe property and MAOP validation are defined and set up to support the US legislative requirements as well as – in a broader sense – the need for accurate location-specific quantitative data in pipeline integrity management.
In summary, our offering is applicable for the following tasks inside a customized Integrity Management Program:• MAOPvalidation.• UpgradingopportunitiesforSMYSgapsinpipe-tallies.• Accuratequantitativeinformationusableforrisk
