5 Overview

Introduction to Pipe and Casing CuttingMirage offers a technologically advanced range of pipe cutting machines and portable band saws which provide efficient and cost effective cutting of conductors and pipeline.

The split frame pipe cutting and bevelling range (MSF) can operate from 2" – 48" (51mm – 1220mm) across many materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, Hastelloy, Incolloy and Super Duplex. Heavy duty version available up to 84".

For challenging subsea environments, the Diamond Wire Saw (MDWS) series of machines is ideal for subsea cutting and can cut pipe between 6" – 80". It can be both diver and ROV operated.

Our Band Saw range covers 9" to 48" cutting, ensuring your cold cutting requirements can be met with high quality and easy to operate kit, ideal for even challenging topside decommissioning environments.

The Mirage Subsea ROV Operable Torque Limiting Tool is a modular, seal free device with a compliant drive designed for manipulator deployment and operation. The torque limiter ensures the safe operations of all low torque interfaces when the output torque of a given manipulator or torque tool cannot be assured.

The machine is supplied complete with Modular Handle, Torque Limiter, Socket Drive Adapter, Shipping Box, Packing List and Manual. Options include a Modular Compliant Drive (Open or Overmolded) and any Custom Square Drives per client request.

MDWSDiamond Wire Saw

ApplicationsThe MDWS uses abrasive cutting technology that is extremely effective in different subsea environments and is ideal for quick cutting through dissimilar materials and resisting compressive forces.

The wire cutter allows circular cutting on all sides, preventing the wire from getting pinched on materials that would otherwise damage lathe and mill type tooling. Customized saws are available by special order.

While the machine can be used topside, it is not considered a cold cutting method when used for surface operations.

The Mirage Manipulator Saw is a hydraulically powered ROV tool exclusively designed for quick deployment and cutting of pipes, casings and structures.
