PINE NEEDLE MONTHLY Halloween Horror in the Halls of LHS! Lakewood High School recently was invaded by armies of zombies, human-size Raggedy Ann dolls and an assortment of other creatures, both friendly and fearsome, in celebration of Halloween. (Is celebration the right word? Considering all the broom-wielding witches, rotting-faced ghouls and blood-dripping vampires that were in our midst, should we say our students were in mourning? Were they lamenting? Wailing? Bereaving?) No, indeed it was a celebration, evidenced by the fun and enjoyment (while still maintaining our educational mission) witnessed in the halls of LHS by students and staff alike. Congratulations to all participants in the student-costume contest, particularly the following winners: Samuel Mendoza (1st place), Cristian Benitez (2nd place) and Jamesha Stuart (3rd place).

Halls of LHS!

Wailing? Bereaving?)

No, indeed it was a celebration, evidenced by the fun and enjoyment (while still maintaining our educational mission) witnessed in the halls of LHS by students and staff alike.

Congratulations to all participants in the student-costume contest, particularly the following winners: Samuel Mendoza (1st place), Cristian Benitez (2nd place) and Jamesha Stuart (3rd place).

Despite a combination of recent successes as well as setbacks, the Piners football team is heading into the final games of the regular season with their heads held high, eager to give it their all as they play Point Pleasant Boro High School at home (Nov. 8, 1 p.m.) and away on Thanksgiving Day against Toms River South (Nov. 27, 11 a.m.)

The month of October was a mixed bag for the Piners, as they destroyed Donovan Catholic, 46-0, but then suffered back-to-back losses against Rum-son Fair-Haven (33-12) and Barnegat (24-22).

The Piners currently hold on to a winning record at 4-3 as they face the Boro Panthers—whose record also currently stands at 4-3—and the 3-3 TRS Indians (who played Brick Memorial on Saturday, a game for which the results were not yet in as the PNM went to print).
