Introduction

Specsavers Optical Group Ltd is the world’s largest optical retailer.

With turnover now exceeding £1b, over 800 stores in the UK and a further 500 across the globe, the move to Solent Business Park was essential to the company’s plan to support its rapid global expansion.

Having completed Specsavers’ 36,000 ft2 Shared Services facility in Nottingham, Paragon was retained to undertake the design and fit-out of Forum 6, a 38,000 ft2 Grade A office block.

Prior to selecting the building, Paragon advised Specsavers on its suitability. As part of the evaluation, the existing mechanical and electrical installation was assessed before recommendations were presented and subsequently implemented as part of the fit out.

Paragon was tasked with creating an inspiring interior that would compliment the building architecture and attract the right staff for Specsavers’ aggressive growth.

Following an intensive consultation period, the design was agreed, the project was started and the fit-out was completed within 12 weeks to the agreed budget.

The Forum 6 fit-out was created within an overriding ethos of best value for Specsavers, whilst perfectly illustrating its commitment to providing its staff with quality office accommodation.
