Page 11: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

He saw a place called Shrewsbury on it and decided to go there.

First he bought a map and had a good look at it.

Page 12: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

She drove him to the town centre and then lefthim there to do what he wanted.

A kind woman gave him a lift to Shrewsbury. She put him in the window so he could look out.

PIG DOGfelt

excited but

confused.He spent

some time walking

around.

The town was big. There were many bridges.

Page 14: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

He knew it was

dangerous being so high up but he

liked thefeeling.

He stood on the

railings and

looked down.

Fish swam in the river below.

Page 15: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

He was very

thirsty now.

In the forest he

drank rain water but

in the town he simply went to the shop.

Life here was very different.

PIG DOG read a sign. It said 'PUB. FOOD ALL DAY'. So he went in.

Inside the pub he met Mr. Diamond Geezer.

Page 17: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

Mr. Diamond

Geezer got PIG DOG a

drink from the bar.

It tasted strange and PIG DOG became quite dizzy.

Page 18: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

Then PIG DOG felt ill and ran to the toilet but found himself face to face with danger!

Page 19: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

He kept silent but then Tin Bird spoke. "Are you a friend of Mr. Diamond Geezer," he asked.

PIG DOG thought quickly."Oh yes!", he replied.

Page 20: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

After finishing in the toilet, PIG DOG went out and shut the door behind him but suddenly...

WAMM-BAMM! He was face to face with Dead Thing.PIG DOG held his breath.

Page 21: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

"I'm from France,"

Dead Thing told PIG

DOG.

Dead Thing spoke in

English so PIG DOG

understood him.

"That's really cool," replied PIG DOG and they returned to the bar.

Page 22: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

The four new friends hung out and chatted together.Happy times!

PIG DOG heard lots of their stories and Dead Thing taught everyone a little bit of French.

The evening came to an end and soon PIG DOG was back on the street.

He needed a quicker form of transport because walking was too slow.

Page 24: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

He went to see a man who sold Magic Nana Boots but they cost too much money.

Page 25: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

So he chose to buy his own set of wheels instead.

Page 26: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

PIG DOG paid for his new car then drove around Shrewsbury.

Page 27: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

It blew them backwards and forwards.

He stuck his head out of the window and let the wind blow against his ears.

Page 28: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

Suddenly he saw something on the rode and hit the brakes. It was goldl!!!

Page 29: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

He got out of the car to have a closer look.It was definitely gold which meant that he might be rich.

PIG DOG needed money but he didn't know what exactly to do next so he rang Mr. Diamond Geezer.

Page 30: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

Mr. Diamond Geezer told PIG DOG about the Three Wise Penguins. So he threw the gold in the back of the

car and went to see them. The Three Wise Penguins sent PIG DOG to Bling Cat who loved gold.

Page 31: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

Bling Cat wore a bell around his neck and

earrings and other

jewels lay at his feet.

PIG DOG showed him

the gold.

"Hey Bling Cat, how much will you give me for this?" asked PIG DOG.

Page 32: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

After 4 days of negotiations, they came to an agreement of £900.

Page 33: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

It was a fair price that meant nobody won and nobody lost either.

PIG DOG hid his money in the front of his car and left.

Page 34: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

He lent Mr. Diamond

Geezer £15 and used

£175 to get a

room.

He rented a place with a

great view from the window.

He sat in the window and thought about his old life in the forest.

Then he fell asleep and dreamt about the forest.

Page 35: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

In his dream, he balanced

on the plants

again.

Page 36: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

He looked up at the

trees which

grew very very tall.

Page 37: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

He dreamt about his parents.

Page 38: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

It broke his heart to think they might be missing him.

Page 39: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

In his dream, he brought them to the town in his new car.

Page 40: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

He showed them his new life and they visited art galleries.

Page 41: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

When PIG DOG woke up, his head hurt so he went for a run around town.

Humans built many strange objects and wrote lots of strange messages too.

Page 42: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

There were no leaves or

branches but he could practise his

balancing skills on the

new objects.

He ran alongthis handrail. It was a lotof fun.

Page 43: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

As he jumped

from one object to

another, he forgot about

his sad dream.

Page 44: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

He did some balancing on some very thin objects too.

Page 45: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

And he caught his

breath in this small

urban cave.

It was a cosy cave but there was some sharp metal too and he cut his foot on it - Ow!

Page 46: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

Then PIG DOG saw a poster. It advertised 'The Weeble Balancing Dance Troop'.

He went and paid them a visit.

Page 47: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

He talked to Elder Weeble. He asked her how Weebles could balance with such a round bottom.

Page 48: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

Elder Weeble

laughed.

"My dear, Weebles

wobble but they don't fall down."

"See for yourself. Look!"

Page 49: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

Balancing with the Weebles was fun. It definitely beat balancing on his own.

Page 50: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

PIG DOG fought to control his happiness as the Weebles rode over one difficult object to another.

Page 51: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

He was so happy that the colours

of a thousand rainbows

mixed together

and drew fantastic

shapes and patterns in his mind.

His body started to feel funny and his head began to spin.PIG DOG became veryvery dizzy. Then everythingwent dark ashe entered dream world...

Page 52: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

SuddenlyPIG DOG

found himself face to face with

Big Blue.

Page 53: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

Big Blue's massive eye sent PIG DOG into a trance. His big mouth looked very inviting so PIG DOG got inside.

Page 54: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

This is just what Big

Blue wanted.

"YUMMY YUMMY!"

he thought as he bit into PIG

DOG's soft body.

Page 55: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

For a long time nothing happened.

Page 56: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

Then, up in the sky there was something.

Page 57: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

It was yellow. It was red. It was PINK!!!

Page 58: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

It was PIG DOG!!!

PIG DOG was back and he flew over Shrewsbury.

Page 60: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

When he was in Big Blue's belly he stole a plane and taught himself how to operate the pedals.

Page 61: PIG DOG - The Journey ELT plain text version adapted from an original story at: pigdogtravels.blogspot.com by Anthony Roland © 2012

PIG DOG was back to continue the

rest of his adventure.
