Gratuities The question is often raised about tipping bus drivers
and tour representatives. A large part of the success of
a tour is due to them. If you wish to show appreciation
to either for an exceptional effort, you may do so vol-
untarily at the end of the trip. This is in no way intend-
ed to suggest that gratuities are expected or required.
This is strictly a personal decision.

Daytona International Speedway, the “World
Center of Racing”, was the creation of William Henry
Getty France. In the mid-50’s, as racing on Daytona
Beach became increasingly unfeasible, Bill France,
who had founded the National Association for Stock
Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) in 1948, built the Daytona
International Speedway.
Since the inaugural “Speedweeks” in 1959, which
featured Lee Petty’s dramatic victory in the first
Daytona 500, Daytona’s legend has grown with the
roster of world-famous athletes who have triumphed in
stock car, sports car and motorcycle competition
there.
NASCAR’s headquarters, as well as the offices for
the International Speedway Corporation and MRN
Radio, are located at Daytona International Speedway.
The Speedway, located on a 480-acre tract, features a
2.5 mile tri-oval course and a 3.56 miles road course.
Following the 2010 Coke Zero 400 the Speedway un-
derwent a repaving for only the second time in its his-
tory, and the $400 million “Daytona Rising” project
was completed just in time for the 2016 Daytona 500.
Denny Hamlin was the 2016 Daytona 500 winner
driving the #11 FedEx Toyota Camry.

Altamonte Springs is a growing city & home to our
Hilton hotel and over 50,000 residents. The town was
incorporated in 1882 and is located halfway between
Orlando and Daytona Beach along Interstate 4.
Basically located in North Orlando, it’s a short drive
to the Beach or the many attractions such as Disney
World, Universal Studios, Sea World, and LEGOLAND.
Closest airport to Altamonte Springs is Sanford Airport
(SNF). Visit Altamonte.org for more information.
23 miles of white sandy beach is an important
attraction for The World Famous Daytona Beach but it’s
reputation as the “World Center of Racing” is what
makes Daytona such a hot tourist spot for speed enthu-
siasts of all types.
Daytona International Speedway completed a 400
million dollar renovation in 2016 and added more fan
amenities. It is a must see for Race Fans. For more
information on what to see and do in and around the
Daytona area please contact the Daytona Beach Area
Convention and Visitors Bureau at 1-800-854-1234.
