Dear Parents/Carers

I hope you had a lovely Christmas and I wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR / DECADE.

The first week has flown by and our pupils came back well rested and positive, ready for learning and catching-up with their friends. They have been to two Pantomimes this week, always a great hit with everyone, and next week is Scottish Week so pupils are allowed to wear tartan on Wednesday, to the Burns Lunch, if you wish them to.

This will go towards the upgrade of our playground and will benefit all our young people enormously.

ACTIVE SCHOOLS AFTER SCHOOL CLUB TERM 2

I’m delighted to let you know that due to financial support from school and delivery by Basket Ball Scotland we can again provide free after school clubs for Pilrig Park pupils.

Both clubs are suitable for any ability and are about having fun and being active. The clubs are staffed by experienced coaches, pupil support assistant Chris and a team of Active Schools volunteers.

Community Help and Advice InitiativeHi, I’m Beth Hardingham and I’m an Advice Worker for a charity called CHAI. CHAI stands for Community Help and Advice Initiative. We offer free and confidential advice on a variety of issues including welfare benefits, housing problems, debts and budgeting. Perhaps you are worried about paying the bills or wonder if you are entitled to any extra financial assistance.

I will be available at Pilrig Park School on the last Friday of every month from 9:00am – 12:00pm. I am next due in on Friday 31 January, so if you have a question to ask or would like to have a chat about any of your concerns, please don’t hesitate to book an appointment with me through the school office.
