The first Internaonal Congress of the Gruppo di Terapia Manuale (MO IFOMPT) In 2012 the Gruppo di Terapia Manuale chosed Bologna as a seng of the 10th edion of the Congress. City of Arts, rich of history, and famous for its food, Bologna is a glamorous, easy to reach and ideal to host the usual appointment with last researches and experts in Manual Therapy from all over the world. The main subject of the Congress is Pain, really complex phenomenon and oſten most important sympthom of many paents. Internaonal Experts about Pain had been invited to bring the results of last researches about pain pathophysiology and treatment, essenal to understand how to approach this symptom, updang knowledge about pain classificaon, features, and secondary deficit as the muscle inhibion. The event is clinically-oriented, so the focus of the presentaons will be the clinical assessment of the paent with pain, and about the choice of the therapeuc strategy suitable for the specific clinical picture of the paent. The first International Congress of the Gruppo di Terapia Manuale

(MO IFOMPT)

In 2012 the Gruppo di Terapia Manuale chosed Bologna as a setting of the 10th

edition of the Congress.

City of Arts, rich of history, and famous for its food, Bologna is a glamorous, easy

to reach and ideal to host the usual appointment with last researches and

experts in Manual Therapy from all over the world.

The main subject of the Congress is Pain, really complex phenomenon and often

most important sympthom of many patients.

International Experts about Pain had been invited to bring the results of last

researches about pain pathophysiology and treatment, essential to understand

how to approach this symptom, updating knowledge about pain classification,

features, and secondary deficit as the muscle inhibition.

The event is clinically-oriented, so the focus of the presentations will be the

clinical assessment of the patient with pain, and about the choice of the

therapeutic strategy suitable for the specific clinical picture of the patient. Latest

news about mechanisms of pain will be presented, followed by some specific

clinical picture of patients with different kind of pain, and most recent evidence-

Medical Doctor Specialized in Neurology Specialized in Physiopathology and Pain Therapy Doctor-in chief - Centre for Pain Medicine at Casa di cura S. Pio X - Fondazione "Opera San Camillo" He attended as a speakers many scientific National and International Congresses. He is author of many books and chapters about pain and published more than 60 articles on National and International scientific journals. Dr. Cesar Fernandez de las Penas (SP)

Physical Therapist, PhD, DO Department of Physical Therapy, Rey Juan Carlos University, Alcorcon, Madrid (Spain) He published more than 100 articles on National and Intenational Journals on Myofascial Pain, Physical Therapy and Manual Therapy. His specific area of interest includes headache, cervical pain, epicondilitis ed neurophysiological effects of Manual Therapy. Dr. Riann Palmieri (USA)

PhD, A.T.C., Associate Professor, Athletic Training Adjunct Associate Professor, Movement Science Director, Neuromuscular Research Laboratory School of Kinesiology, University of Michigan (USA). She is a leading expert on the Arthrogenic Muscle Inhibition (AMI), author of some publications indexed on Pubmed about that topic, she is involved also in joint injuries and causes for development of arthritis.

Dr. Mick Thacker (UK)

Physical Therapist, MSc, PhD, Grad Dip Phys HPC MMACP FCSP King’s College, London (United Kingdom) He rewrote and leads the MSc Pain; Science and Society programme at King’s and is involved with inter-professional learning initiatives for pain both at the university and in the wider academic arena, recently being invited to join the curriculum development team of the International Association for the Study of Pain. He is author of some publication indexed on PubMed, and his PhD studied the neuro-immune interactions and pain Dr. Bart Koes (NL)

Master Degree in Health Sciences, PhD Unit of Research of General Medicine - Erasmus University - Rotterdam (NL) He got Masters degree in Health Sciences in Limburg University, Maastricht (The Netherlands). In 1992 he received his PhD after that he worked as a senior investigator and then as Associate Professor at Research Institute in Extramural Medicine, Vrije Universiteit, in Amsterdam. Since 1999 is Professor and Chief of the Research Unit in General Medicone, in Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam. He is author of more than 300 publications indexed on PubMed about the efficacy of different treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.
